Pillow Talk

I know there was a thread on this, but I could not find it.
Anyway, I am over waking up to a stiff neck every morning. I have tried all kind of pillows (including the feather down) and nothing helps. I have even started taking Tylenol PM to hopefully not wake up with a sore neck and that does not work either. Anybody have any idea what type of pillow I can get?

Have you tried the memory pillow? I have the smae problem and it is helping...slightly, but better than popping all the pills I have been taking

What is a memory pillow? I have never heard of one.

Do you have air conditioning? If so, make sure there is no breeze blowing on you. Try wearing a hat ( like a ski cap) and keep your neck warm as much as possible.

Well of course I have air conditioning, BUT I have a fan that blows on me. I have to have my fan on to sleep.

I have to have it ice cold to sleep - but was having problems with a stiff neck. My mother gave me the silliest looking little hat - knit hood with long side pieces that wrap loosely around my neck like a scarf. I look like an idiot! But my neck stopped hurting in the morning!

We have tempurpedic(basically same as memory foam I think) and we don't have any more problems with the neck aches. I'm surprised tylenol pm doesn't help, at least with the not waking up. Maybe try Advil pm since it is an anti-inflmmatory and Tylenol isn't.

I will try to turn the fan in a different direction tonight. Thanks Windswept.

Oh yeah, the fan, I forgot about that, that does it too! I crocheted myself a fun fur scarf, it's real soft, I wear it usually in the winter when I go to sleep (dang apartment walls are that insulated)and that helps a great deal too! Only thing I have to do is make sure I hide it, Digger likes anything soft and he goes to lay on it, wiggles in and when I go to take him off it his claws grabs the yarn, lol.

Linda, I use a memory foam pillow too and have a 4" memory foam mattress topper. bought them at Wal-mart. No more pressure points, i love it. Since having my neck surgery i have to have my head mostly flat, because if my neck is bent up while i sleep it really bothers me the next day.
