i am sick and tired of fools blaming someone else for their problems. if these girls want to shovel food down thier throats that make them fat, then its their own fault.

While the lawsuit is probably just ridiculous, I would encourage you to make sure there isn't something else involved that might have merit. The author of the article linked in this thread should not be considered a real reporter. He's been known to simply make up some things in his reporting.
Now, if what he says really is all there is to it then it is insane and needs to be thrown out.

It's the predictable result of handing smokers victories over tobacco companies.

If you don't want to get fat, stay away from McDonald's.
McDonald's didn't make the girls fat...their poor eating habits made them fat.
They said McDonald's "tricked them into eating food that made them fat and sick" - well ummm, unless McDonald's was telling them they were eating a grilled chicken breast, steamed broccoli, and boiled potatoes, and instead "tricked them" by giving them a Big Mac with french fries and they couldn't tell the difference, what the heck are they talking about? They couldn't SEE what they were eating?
I don't eat McDonald's junk food, but if I did, it would be MY fault for getting fat, not theirs.

I will not eat at McDonalds... The thought is making my stomach flip.
Its the pure inconsistency of the obesity saga... It is the battle in this world of those that know what is healthy and those that don't.

Who knows all the details of the case?
Sometimes groups will find "victims" to use in a lawsuit against a large company that is doing something wrong. Often, the cash settlements are small and sometimes donated to chairty. The purpose is to stop the company from breaking the law.
There are serious accusations that McDonald's deliberately lied about the nutrition information regarding some of its products. If they did this, it is a serious violation of law and needs to be brought to attention.
Now if the best they can find is "deceptive advertising" then this case is probably going nowhere. It will also probably go nowhere if it's just two girls trying to make a quick dollar. As I said before, I want to see something on this from a reliable source.
We'll see.

If they can prove that someone held a gun to their heads to MAKE them eat at Mickey D's, they'd have a case.

Good ole America. What ever happened to personal responsibility in this country? Got a problem, blame it on somebody else. I wish I could be on the jury in the rare event this case makes it that far.........MGC

Being skiney has caused emotional trauma to me. Why hasn't McDonalds stuffed their grease filled food down my throat? This is clearly illegal. I need at least 10 million dollars in order to pay someone to stuff food down my throat for the rest of my life, oh and counseling for emotional trauma.

Proper diet and exercise are two KEY words. Lowering your salt intake is definitely a PLUS.

Yes, McDonalds needs the money. I heard that they aren't making more millions and billions fast enough for their liking. Let these 2 girls pay poor McDonalds.
Of course the 2 girls should pay McDonalds the legal costs but does Mcdonalds need the money? After all, I bet McDonalds will make up for those costs in like less then 30 minutes of existing. Instead, the girls should not be allowed to go to McDonalds for a while.
All this aside, didn't this story happen years ago? 2 girls suing McDonalds was like back in 2003-2004. The case ended and the 2 girls lost.
