I'm sick EDIT: my condition worsens

it all started with the football players, then past through the school. I've got the shakes, clogged nose and a horrid cough. I'm starting to get muscle weakness. some people have been diagnosed with a weak strain of pneumonia. nobody has had full blown pneumonia yet but somebody will. the attendance was down 15% today and will probably be down more than that tomorrow.
is anyone else sick?

Took my daughter today to the doctor after having a fever of 101-102 for 4 days. She had strep throat. Not to much stuffiness, just severe sore throat and some coughing, oh and the fever.

Hope you feel better soon factola. I dread the cold and flu season, not just because of what I will catch, but the fact that someone in this house of 5 is always sick from about Nov.-Mar.

A coworker is very sick right now so it's going around. She had a personal day today arranged anyway so I'm hoping she's better tomorrow. We're running side by side school registers and I have to count/check her money bundles. I know it's just a matter of time before I get it. Not to mention all the other germs floating around in a school!

Feel better fact789.

Fact I think u have a strep infection. The "shakes" as u put it are a pretty good sign of that. You need to go to the doctor and get a chest x ray to be sure this hasnt turned into pneumonia and you will likely need antibiotics. Drink plenty of clear fluids. and I mean plenty, and get to the doctor ASAP. You will likely need a couple of days of bedrest so i wouldnt plan on going back to school till next week.

Hope u feel better.

Not yet BUT....we have 3 patrol officers with it and they were on DUTY today, coughing, wheezing, gagging all over the place....I went out on lunch and bought a tube of "Airborne" and slammed 3 of them over the course of the day!

It's probably a virual numonya....take care, get rest and see the sawbones, the ONLY thing that works is antibiotics!

It doesnt sound viral Dennis..and if it was antibiotics would be useless.

Just my 2 cents on the diagnoses.

Sorry you are feeling so bad. Sounds like influenza which is going around but as others suggested if not treated can lead to pneumonia. Some friends had it with the bones aching which reminded me of the Hong Kong Flu back in 1967 which was the last time I had the flu. Hope you feel better soon.

I have a cold. My head is all stuffed up and I look like Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. Other than that, I'm fine!

I hope that you do get to the doctor soon fact! It seems like you need alittle help to get rid of that thing. Also, I'm sure it's all over town the fact that the football players and now the school has had this. I don't doubt that the doctor will want to prescribe you something. Did you take your temperature?

no i have not taken my temp. i dont have a fever.

If you have the shakes, sometimes that may mean that you do have a fever. I've had a severe case of strep throat. It was the winter and I ran from my car, into my condo and jumped in bed with the coat STILL ON because I was shaking and shivering so bad. I think my temp was like 102 degrees.

Aw Fact! sorry you aren't well. Hope you get a good sleep tonight. Though I know when I have a cold or flu, its so so hard to sleep properly, especially when you can't breathe well.

It totally sucks, I have been feeling like crap for over a week, the aches and pains came first, then the cold symptoms. I have been on antobiotics and feel a little better but I am so tired of blowing my nose lol
