Another Transit Strike

Union workers of a transit system called "The T" in Fort Worth, TX are on strike today. Service continues by other employed drivers, but expect delays. The good news is that the service is fare-free. Train service from the Trinity Railway Express is not affected.

Fort Worth Bus Drivers On Strike

FORT WORTH, Texas — Public transportation was crippled Monday when bus drivers for the city's transit agency walked off the job.

Teamsters Union drivers for the Forth Worth Transportation Authority—The T—said they are upset about pay, benefits and other factors.

James Dody, one of thousands of Fort Worth residents who rely on public transportation, said he was just trying to get to the doctor in time for his appointment. He had to wait for a bus driven by a non-union backup driver.

From what I've heard this morning, some of the bus drivers may be on the unemployment line.

Since then, ridership of The T is down 14% due to reduced schedules and loss of fare money.

The week-long strike has come to an end on Saturday Night after Union workers agreed to a new deal with "The T". More info to come soon.
