This is non-political and it should remain that way, but, I thought it would be fun to post straight election numbers. How about the tightest election you could find by the numbers? How about the biggest margin? This could be any election, big or small...even a small local election that we don't know diddly squat about. I'll start with this election in Louisiana..it is in Baton Rouge and consists of the 6th Congressional District. Can you top a wider margin of victory? Remember..this is just about straight numbers...

6th Dist.—510 of 510 precincts:
Richard H. Baker, R-Baton Rouge—794,640;
Richard M. Fontanesi, L-Baton Rouge—19,644.

I think I remember someone losing in some race by 1 vote earlier this year(must have been the primary).

I was looking at something similar of races today.

The two closest races I saw today were both from South Carolina.

In terms of local races, the town of Scranton, SC struck down a ballot measure by 1 vote.

In a major race, the race for South Carolina Superintendent of Education is within hundredths of a percent. Democrat Jim Rex leads Republican Karen Floyd by 504 votes out of 1,050,000 cast with 99.2% reporting.
