I agree. Let's finish what we've started and get our guys and gals back home. Let's also make sure they have the supplies that they need to get the rest of the job done.

Ok, again, I'm the odd person OUT (j, don't say a word).
I'm one of the few that actually liked the guy.

I agree too, mostly because it's nice to see the buck stop at the top. Too often in government, the lowest poor sap on the totem poll is the one who gets the heat.

Hes 74 years old. Not saying hes senile but I do not think he is thinking too clearly these days. Yes I agree its time for him to go and enjoy his retirement.

It was long past time for him to go. I'm a Republican and for the most part like the Bush Adminstration, but he made far too many mistakes in Iraq and I think if he had resigned a year ago or so, the outcome last night would have been different. I did like him personally however, but he was a liability to the party.

Oh I agree there. Lets do what we have to do and get the hell out of there. Before this turns into another Vietnam.

I was thinking the same thing. I think that he did offer his resignation twice and President Bush declined it both times.

Rums was nothing more than a scapegoat/talking head. Wolfowitz was the architect of the problems, though Paul was correct on some of the ideals.
Gets to political after that.

For those who follow politics, this is a bizarre story. It's almost as if the GOP threw the election on purpose.
The more I think about it, the more I wonder if it's true. A solid Republican majority would have looked increasingly corrupt to the public. Additionally, a divided Washington could create the next best thing to Laissez-faire, which helps the economy in the short term (though not in the long term as we learned in the 1920's). A President and his party always get credit for a booming economy.
Is it a total coincidence that the day that the focus should be on the Democrats, the news switches back to something extremely positive coming out of the White House?
If the GOP had stayed in power, the Democrats could possibly have won the White House in 2008 even if they'd run Saddam.
Could the "blue tidal wave" be Karl Rove's ultimate genius play? Something to ponder.
