What's the weirdest, strangest, job you COULDN'T stand, a job that you HAD to take because there was nothing else available?

Me....I ALWAYS wanted to be professional chef at a "phoofey" resturant, WELL...I tried it once, needless to say, I only lasted 4 DAYS as a prep cook. The PACE was INSANE, I burned SO much stuff over that 4 day period, I thought "Phhhft...if this is what it's like to be a chef, fooooorgeeeeet IT!" That cured me of that "wild hair"...I now cook "professionaly" at HOME

I am a domestic goddess.... and part time student, hopefully getting a degree soon in graphic design....

I worked in this store on cash, and this store was notorious for the items scanning wrong prices all the time. My first days on that job were all nightmares, angry customers blaming me. And I kept thinking how the management just threw me to the dogs to be all chewed up and spat out.

I left that job 2 months later. I'm surprised I stood it so long.

Gee, I guess I'm blessed to have had no really bad jobs!
I've been an industrial seamstress for 31 years, and now I can't remember how to do anything else. I think I can safely say this is my LAST job.

My worst job was working as a hotel desk clerk for 3 weeks before INS shut the place down. How was I to know that I was only one of three legal Americans in the entire place (including the owners)???

Waitress in a restaraunt - at the end of the day, I had to clean the
ICE CREAM machine and break it down into all these intricate parts...?
(17 years old = whhhaaaahhh???)

Never mind - that was my ONE day at the restaraunt - I'll go to
nursing school!

About 3 years ago I delivered bread. I ran 2 routes a day sometimes. Started at 2:30am and finshed at 6 or 7pm sometimes. Since I was "in training" i recieved no commission, just a flat salary.

Walked out 2 days before Isabel hit

Shoe Salesman at JC Penny was by far my WORST job. The Long Johns Silvers run was pretty bad too!

I worked one summer while still in high school on a christmas tree farm, pruning trees. Talk about hot, exhausting, and dirty. All day out in the sun walking up, down and across hills. The sap in the white pines would gum up the shears, you'd hit a nest of yellow jackets once in a while, and the owner was a drunken nut who would yell and scream all the time.

Working in the grill at the local drug store here. Gosh that was horrible. Especially when someone wanted an omelette and I am like "huh?"

Roofing in Florida over the summer.

Working in a convenience store for Circle K, I was robbed at knife point and a hidden gun point(could of been a finger in the pocket) 3 times in a six week period, 2 of the robberies by the same guy. I quit after the last robbery.

I was robbed as well by knife point while working at Subway (one of my jobs as a teenager). That was one of the worst jobs looking back on it, but at the time I didn't mind it at all. I actually enjoyed all the jobs I have had at the time I had them.

Me too, except it was 7:30 in the morning. The guy had a gun, then made me go in the back room. He was a regular customer (or so I thought). I found out that he was casing the place and watching how I made the deposits. I walked backwards to the back room. He told me to turn around and I told him " I am NOT turning my back on you" "If you are going to shoot me, it will be to where I can see you" He then left. He was caught later that evening after he robbed another one of our stores. I walked out of that business and never looked back.

I'd have to say being a Caddy tops the list. If you've seen Caddyshack, the fights, the stupid head shack guy, well you can imagine because that's what it was like. The pay stunk, the hours were long, and sometimes you sat there and never got out but spent $5 on snacks and drinks. Plus....I rode my bike over 12 miles to get to the course.

That is what the cops told me too, j. lol. One of them told me it took alot of guts to rob me and that he would have never done it.

I can't say I've had a bad job. The most boring, now, was the demonstrator job at the mall. I loved it, but there were quite a few days when I didn't get a single sign-up. I work at Sears now and it's a lot faster-paced.

Doing collections for Curcuit City accounts on XMASS eve.. One call was for $12.46 and I gave my notice right after..

Great experience for people to understand the importance of credit and money in general though.
