Okay, 'fess up:

Where were you waaaaaaay back in 1981? Did you watch it? If you did, you probably watched it live since many TV soap fans didn't own VCR's yet (I didn't!). And I know some here will say "I wasn't even born yet (uh hum, Brent!)....Luke and Laura who?".......

And finally, there will be a bunch of members who will say they didn't watch soaps. That's fine. That'll be j and Chad's camp.....he he.

But if you did, this was THE TV wedding to watch....and oh how we soap fans tuned in.....I watched it live, while I was supposed to be answering phones at a doctor's office. I think we put all the lines on hold and all of us watched. It was TV soap history in the making but little did we know that......LOL.

Reminisce away, all you General Hopsital fans.....I tuned in for a few years and was glad I did!

I was hooked big time. Got home from school at 2:30 but had to be at work at 4:00 most days. Only took 10 miutes to get there. Still remember when laura threw the flowers off the balcony and Scotty caught it. I guess I watched it for about 3 years.

I know! That was quite a shock - Scotty Anderson catching the bouquet. He had a classic Scotty comment but I can't remember it. I do recall thinking - wait, was this marriage legit, was their divorce really legal?

And before that, we wanted her with Scotty!

I don't watch GH, haven't for years but I do have one question:

Did Scotty Anderson remain devious, selfish or did he turn out nice?

I was in college and the Student Center was PACKED watching this. I loved it. :D

Scotty Anderson was always devious but he did end up being a "good guy".

I follow the soaps occassionally through the Soap Opera magazines. That had to have been one of the best, if not the greatest story lines ever, IMHO.

Same thing here Stephanie! I was at University of Oklahoma, and the campus was practically deserted that afternoon. And yes, even the boys showed up to watch it.

I heard college campus TV's were crowded with fans. I seem to recall patients coming in for their appts. and wondering what all the fuss was about. A wedding? As if Luke & Laura were royalty.....LOL At some point we realized, okay it's time to go back to work.

Do you all remember when Luke was trying to crack that code for the Ice Princess or maybe the code words were Ice Princess. All I know that scene was so suspenseful, he was trying to what - save the world? LOL

Yes it was a huge storyline. I was glued to it all summer long. That's what made it even better, they were both on the run, all summer. Kids could watch. I don't know what my excuse was. I had to watch while at work. When I quit my job after 10 years one friend at work gave me a charm that read - I heart soaps! I still have it, somewhere.....

Ah, the memories. Seems like yesterday in some ways but oh so long ago in others.
