- My family
- Our good health
- My FIL beating cancer this summer
- My job (last year at this time I was hoping to get hired with the school district)
- My dog doesn't have cancer (benign tumor that may or may not need to be removed)
- Basically, my life. It's great! I just wish I had more energy but you can't have everything in life!

and......

- Storm2K!

Yeah, I had to get sentimental but we're a family here too!

Considering all the negative stuff that happened in 2006, particularly during the first four months (it will take ages to detail everything), here is what I am thankful for:

1. Family.
2. Out of the grocery business and into a starter job for my career goals.
3. Enjoying the first three and a half months of the year with my previous golden retriever of five and a half years (had to be put down because of a tumor in April) :(
4. Enjoying the last four months of the year (and hopefully many more after that) with my new golden retriever from a rescuse organization! :)
5. Good to excellent grades.

Three things come to mind for me this Thanksgiving week 2006:

1) My friends...from Kentucky to New York to TX and everywhere else they come from, they are one of the 3 big reasons I still live. Without them, I am nothing.
2) Family - same reasoning as #1
3) My health, which although it took a tailspin through the first half of '06, is very good now...and I am so glad I still have that when 5 months ago I was within 2 days of death.

First, I should say I am thankful that I am not judged by the quantity of time I spend at S2k, but hopefully the quality of time.

I am thankful for good health, my wife of 35 years, my family, all those who add something to my life, and for the continuing opportunity to make a small contribution to something good each day.

I am thankful especially for having been touched in life by my two special grandangels Emma and Olivia.

And on Thursday, I will be thankful that prior to her passing back in 1972, my mom left her butterscotch pie recipe where I could find it.

Enjoy the holidays and be safe, my friends.

Dennis that butterscotch pie sounds good. Could you post the recipe on the forum?
