Armed man in Miami Herald headquarters surrenders

WOW. It's in the Herald headquarters, too.

Sixth floor of the building is being evacuated, which is where the Miami Herald paper is produced daily. The man with the gun (as of current reports) is a former cartoonist for the Spanish edition of the Herald.

I'll try to update as I search for more information.

The Herald itself is covering this. Police evacuated the sixth floor, while the rest of the building is being evacuated of employees per the previous article in the Palm Beach Post posted.

No new information as of yet. It's currently unknown if anyone has been injured or killed.

The man has just surrendered to police. He is indeed a former political cartoonist for the Spanish Miami Herald who was fired last year.

The man has been bailed out of jail time. Apparently the weapon he had was fake.
