*snicker* I remember back in the old days. I had a Commodore64, that lasted exactly 91 days (1 day longer than the warranty from Sears) and used a TRS-80 (Radio Shack) in school. I belonged to a BBS that my best friend's dad ran from his home computer (he worked for IBM). The bulletin board was called Pyroto -- it was a "mountain" that you could climb to higher levels by answer trivia questions.

Then when the Internet took off, I used to get so confused. You couldn't "read" a website like a book and go page after page after page in order (1, 2, 3, 4...). I had to learn to click back to the homepage and click on other links, and then navigate around to various other pages.

Now it's a breeze. :)

Commodore 64 was the first computer in our house too-retired it. Before the Net there were the online services like Compuserve (where I signed up in 1989) you paid for online time by the minute and had these really fast modems at 300 Baud. Then of course we had the first hard drives on the PCs which were 10 MB because we would never need more than that.

My brother had one of the first Apple computers. How cool - SOLITARE! We spent hours playing it.

My son loves my stories about taking "computer class" in high school. There were about 5 of us in there, and we learned simple DOS programming. No Windows, nothing back in the early 80's!
