I would be a five-alarm blaze if that happened!

I've had attempts that have broken through two of the three firewalls I have.

It's just another case of people not having anything better to do with their time than to mess up someone else's.

I'm sorry to hear that Derek.
I don't understand people sometimes.

What kind of firewall do you have?. Do you keep your computer powered up all the time? If so this allows hackers all day to gain access. Me, I only keep mine powered up while I'm using it........MGC

I usually keep my comp on, which may have been the problem

I leave mine running all the time but turn off my modem. I have always been told that constantly shutting down and rebooting your computer can cause more damage than a virus.

Interesting. I hadn't heard that. I normally just "log off" without powering down.

I only turn mine off when I go to bed at night. I think what you said is true somewhat. A lot of times the problems on my computer have come after a regular shutdown.

Heh, could be, there's some logic to it. Only problem is that leaving my pc on all the time hurts my bank account (electricity bill) and the enviroment. Hope there will be a pc one day which doesn't take minutes to start.

Derek I hope you've been backing up frequently.
Viruses are a major pain, but a frequent backup of important data solves all problems.

I looked that up. It's a myth
