"Chestnuts roasting on an open fire, Jack Frost nippin' at your nose"
Anyone here eat chestnuts? I "LOVE" 'em but ya talk about FATTENING

I save and save my pennies for this time of year when those delicious morsales arrive at the store, not cheap, $5.99 lb. this year but oooooooooooh are they GOOD! I've had 2 lbs. thus far since Thanksgiving day and have gained 6 pounds!

They're pretty good. I like most nuts (keep any jokes to yourself).
They're actually very good for you as long as you don't eat too much.

Even though they're high in fat, "they" say you should eat a handful of almonds while trying to lose weight. Apparently, it works.

Chestnuts roasting in the microwave ...
sunburn peeling on your nose.....
Sorry, I'm from Florida
To "roast" in the microwave: cut a small slice in the shells of 6 or so chestnuts, place on a plate and lightly cover with a paper towel and "nuke" it on high for no more than 60 seconds. Wait for a minute afterwards because they will be very hot.

That's a good Floridian's version of "The Christmas Song".
Anyways, Never had chestnuts before, but I did have cashews and peanuts.

I've had water chestnuts. Don't think I've ever had roasted chestnuts, unless it was when I was little.

I have a chestnut tree in my back yard. I usually collect them in the fall and give them away. Those prickly little outer shells are a pain but once you get to the inner nut - they're worth the effort. (kinda like me) lol
