I took a drink of a friend's eggnog, last night - the SMELL made me back up
and say, "Whhhaaahhh?" I used to be "Miss Margarita" - but, it's Rum and
Diet 7-UP, these days. I'm getting to be like Maxine - God help me....

I don't drink alcohol. Of course, I do like some hot apple cider. But the way the weather's going here, I'm a get some sparkling apple cider and chill them in the fridge before drinking them.

I can't drink alcohol. However I, like Garrett, love my hot cocoa on Christmas Eve at least.

Here's a boring answer - the usual! Beer and beer that agrees with me. With all the holiday party food that one partakes in over a 2 week period, I need to stick with liquor I can handle. LOL
Now my in-law's like to mix up special concoctions for xmas. One year it was something called Fish House Punch. Let's just say there was very little non-alcohol beverages in that stuff. I sniffed someone's cup and promptly went back to sipping my trusty beer. One of my SIL's got plastered on that punch and fell down in the snow on my back deck (she was taking a smoke break). She came in with snow on her face. We asked what happened? She didn't even know! I think that is when someone took the punch bowl and poured it all out. Another year it was Peppermint Martini's. They're always mixing up some new batch of drinks. Again, I just open the fridge and sip my beer.
The next day I usually feel pretty good, while a few others are moaning - what was in that punch? LOL There's a big ski outing on the 26th and you don't know how good it feels to not be hungover for that!

No alcohol for me at Christmas. New Years' Eve is a different story.

LOL Mary.
For a number of years back in Illinois, my boss and his wife would bring Fish House Punch to drink at our annual party. They always rented out a hall and had a DJ, but for the most part the staff would wander off in the direction of the paid bar and buy a beer or something other than that FHP!!
These days a single Captain and Coke is my idea of a wild night on the town. A glass of wine will accompany Christmas eve dinner, I'm sure.
...and Garrett, I had a GREAT hot chocolate at an outdoor Christmas party on the 1st. We then made hot chocolate with marshmallows again when we went to visit those granddaughters of ours a couple of weeks ago.
To be honest, if those beer bottles in the fridge had an expiration date, we'd have retired them down the drain a couple of months ago.

Mostly beer and wine, with the occasional two fingers of good single-malt, just like every other time of year.
