Remind me never to go to Bolivia... or China for that matter. I just sucked my chair up a very inconvenient part of my anatomy looking at the pics.

1. Russian Siberian Road to Yakutsk looks like a road I once drove on in Leeds Alabama. My boyfriend was a former race car driver and it was only because of his knowledge that we didn't end up dead. Three times the car spun in a 360 degree spin. Once I had to get out and push and ended up covered in clay. It felt like wearing concrete overalls when it dried. Where the road dead ended was quite beautiful but definitely not worth risking life and limb to get their.

Now Trail Ridge Road in Colorado does not seem as scary. And that was a fun one to be on with rain at 10,000 feet!

Roads in Cambodia are pretty 'fun' too. The potholes in those roads eat axles and brakes for breakfast; I've never seen that many broken/smoking vehicles on the road. But it's not only the cars which suffer from the roads there: I hit the roof of the car in which I travelled numerous times and felt pretty 'shaken' when I arrived at my destination.

And I thought the roads in Downtown Dallas were worse.

If you've ever been on the bus tour in Denali nationa park, Alaska, the road in Bolivia probably looked familiar, especially the passing an oncoming vehicle, lol. One lane, no barriers on the side, just a complete drop to your death, hairpin turns on the side of a high steep mountain. EEekk!

Also, in Whittier AK, there is a road that leads there, the only road to get there, is a 2 miles tunnel road that shares the one lane with an active railroad. They have it timed pretty well to make sure the tunnel is clear of cars for the train, but it's pretty scary while you're driving over hte railroad track and there is no where to go.

Now, that China walk on the side of the mountain......... Oh, I think I almost lost my supper, that is downright nuts.

Yikes - after seeing those photos, I know I could handle being behind the wheel on our next trip to Chicago!

The photos say it all. I think I'd rather walk than ride along that steep mountain road!

Don't know if any of you will have seen this on tv but there is a roundabout round the Arc de Triomphe in Paris which looks a nightmare to drive. It is wide enough for about 10 cars to fit side by side, has no lanes, and generally consists of many people using their horns and all pushing round. If you got stuck on the inside it would take you 10 minutes to get off the roundabout during rush hour. There is a satellite image of it here.

OK, that roundabout is just scary! That's enough to keep me using public transport for at least another year.
