Breaking news on television right now.

At least three people apparently injured after one car on a green line train derailed at the Mount Vernon subway stop, which is directly underneath the new DC Convention Center.

Apparently the fifth car of a six-car train derailed as it was approaching the Mount Vernon Square station, sending 16 of the 150 or so people on board the train to the hospital. One person's injuries were 'serious' but were not believed to be life-threatening.
