I saw William Ben Ownby's Mothe on TV this morning. I felt really bad for her and now to hear this great news, two boys found.

That's the
NUMBER ONE thing we're taught above and beyond ANYTHING, ALWAYS be aware of your immediate surroundings, your partners surroundings, know EXACTLY where you are and how to get out if it warrents.....
GREAT story...Kudos to my Brothers walkin' the Thin Blue Line!

If this story proves one thing..its this.... NEVER EVER GIVE UP HOPE.
Even when its as dark as night, there is always a small flicker of light ..and once there is life, there is hope.
God bless their families and all the people involved for bringing these 2 kids back to where they belong.

some info that I have heard this morning on CNN
The boy gone since 2002 said that he saw himself on park benches and I believe I heard (though I COULD BE MISTAKEN as it was when I was waking up), was that he felt insulted by having his photo there.
Why did he not leave for 4 years is also something I would like to learn during the investigation. Was it the Stockholm Syndrome? If so, what did he do during that time?
If either boy was physically abused, the alleged kidnapper should receive 75 lashes with a whip and be forced to count the lashes himself, and publicly. If he sexually abused either of the children... well... we should make up a special punishment for him, something to maximize pain and suffering that he would face, maybe an Iron Maiden or something similar

I'm wondering the same, Derek. Did you notice he has piercings? Obviously he was out in public. Did this guy brainwash him somehow, tell him something happened to his parents, etc.? I'll be curious to hear these details.
And I don't think there's a punishment harsh enough for this scum. I'm a mother and can't imagine what I would do to him, given the chance. I'd certainly save the state the cost of a trial.

yeah, I heard about the piercings as well.
Part of me is wondering was his disappearance voluntary? Being out in public as much as he APPARENTLY was and making no effort whatsoever to leave (and he knew there was an ongoing search to locate him) has me pondering if this was not a forced abduction.
If the boy left voluntarily, we should learn why did he leave. If it is proven to be an abduction, throw the book at the alleged kidnapper. If is was a forced abduction with no bodily harm, give him at least 25 years, if there was harm... do what I said in my previous post in this thread

I don't think he left voluntarily ...He was 11 when he was snatched...The guy had plenty of time to totaly brainwash this kid...It is easy to convince a 11 year old of alot of things...I'm wondering did he snacth another kid because the other one was getting to old and maybe harder to controll...Was he going to get rid of the older one and replace with the younger one?

That is also a question that needs to be answered during the investigation
So many questions here. I just do not want to see a rush to judgement, like there was in a certain case in NC with a few women of very questionable character. I'[d rather this take too long, but get it right in the end

Yes, many questions and in articles I've read, both boys have been instructed not to answer questions. I also would like this investigation to take too long b/c right now we don't need details. And quite honestly, given what these unfortunate boys had to deal with, they will be very personal. And yes, shocking, no doubt. I am relieved they are back home, safely with their parents. But they are going to need lots of help to deal with this too. Your heart breaks for the boy missing for almost 5 years and of course the other boy as well.
What this case makes me want to do now is observe more and listen. Yes, eavesdrop on conversations you hear in public. If I ever hear anything suspicious, you can be sure I will alert store officials. Oh yes I will.

if you look at the picture from several years ago, his ear was pierced then...

Didn't Steven Stayner also go out in public with Kenneth Parnell? I think Parnell told him his parents were dead or didn't want him or something and that he (Parnell) was a preacher and would take care of him.
And almost like in this case, Staynor was found only after another boy was kidnapped (or attempted to be). Parnell grew bored with the older Stayner and preferred to find someone younger (*muttering under breath* Sick perv!).
I'm glad both were found and I hope they both have better lives than Stayner did. RIP Steven.
