We finally found out Thursday that the hubby will get his new job and promotion in Albuquerque and I can finally move to my new job there as well. I will be leaving the federal government after 28 years of service. He will still be a civil servant.
We'll be moving around the 1st of March.
Our daughter is getting ready to deliver her daughter any day now. She calls me every three or four hours to ask questions about this or that ache and pain. It is the most glorious thing to have a 22 year old admit she knows NOTHING about what is going on with her right now after claiming to know EVERYTHING for the last ten years. I am loving this. It's so nice to be needed!
So, I wont be around much in the next few weeks. Thanks for your support!

Alice, I'm so excited for you. It will just keep getting better and better. Oh being a Grandma is sooooo wonderful. You'll love it.
I know how badly you wanted to move and it all seems to be falling into place. Starting a new job - after 28 years of service - everything new and challenging - and I know how much you love a challenge. ((HUGS)) If you need help picking out that new home, I'm your girl!!!! You know I wish you all the happiness in the world my friend.

Ah good old AlbuTurkey as we Arizonans call the place. It will certainly be a change from FL and yes, they do get snow there. On a linguistic note, the Spanish spoken in NM is more Mexican in Flavor rather than the Cuban Spanish prevalent in FL.

We moved to Florida from AZ 9 years ago and have hated every day of it. I am NOT a Florida person. We were aiming for a return to SE AZ but NM is fine for now. (we'll end up retiring in Portal or Patagonia.) We are very familiar with that part of the country.
The new baby will be grandchild number SIX for us.... yikes.

Hey, congratulations and welcome back to the wild west!! Albuquerque has had its share of winter this year, and certainly it has plenty of summertime weather to keep things interesting too. Let me know when you arrive there. There's a woman weather fan I've come across who chronicles the sky events there on another website so well! Be safe, and enjoy the journey back this way. And good luck with the new granddaughter, too. We're at two and holding!!!

Alice - early congrats! A new baby on the way - how exciting. I'm in that stage, almost - where I'm not needed as a mom as I used to be. Watched my college aged daughter drive off again yesterday and of course, cried. I know in time she'll need me again. So yes it is very nice to be needed! A wonderful feeling. And I'm told, when I miss my daughters' younger years, "just wait until you have Grandchildren". People say it's the best feeling in the world. I can wait a few years though - LOL. My girls are only 16 and 19. Good luck with your husband's new career and move also! Lots happening for you. If you're MIA, we certainly understand!
