BABY HEARING
By Daniel
1) Hold baby until baby appears deeply asleep.
(baby sleeps soundly)
2) Carefully get up and move about the room.
(baby sleeps soundly)
3) Place baby in sleeping area.
(baby moves a bit -- but continues to sleep soundly)
4) Snuggle baby safely into blankies or snuglies.
(baby fusses a tad -- but then again sleeps soundly)
5) Stand back and look at baby
(baby sleeps soundly)
6) Look at baby for signs of impending awakening.
(baby sleeps soundly)
7) Study sleeping baby
(baby sleeps soundly)
8) Carefully stand back and take two steps to couch
(baby sleeps soundly)
9) Lie down on couch, and listen for signs of baby movement.
(baby sleeps soundly)
10) Shut eyes.
WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!
Moral of the story:
Baby can sleep through dishwashers, fighting siblings, cat meows, phone calls, war movies, and the opening of soda cans -- but the sound of mommy's eyes shutting is upsettingly loud.
