One of my bosses and a friend here at worked died unexpectedly last night. He was only 45. I had traveled with him to Idaho just 4 weeks ago and golfed many times with him. He will be sorely missed and can be truly viewed as one of those irreplaceable cogs in our business. He was a great golfer who devoted every spare minute he had to be with his daughter. She had taken a liken to the game much to her Dad’s delight. He was so proud of her. I didn’t matter how busy he was, if you asked him how his daughter was doing, he would drop everything and engage in lengthy conversation. He taught her, and she was now beginning to teach him as she played on the high school team.
I don’t usually do these kind of posts….you know the “pray for me, pray for him or her”, but this has touched me in way I never expected. His daughter is only 16 and looked up to him and adored him. They had that kind of Father/Daughter relationship many of us fathers are envious of. I honestly don’t know how I will work today.
Thank you for letting me share a little sorrow.

Sometimes life just really sucks doesn't it?
We just have to appreciate everything we have while we still have it, because you just never know.
I will keep them in my thoughts and prayers.

j... I am sorry to hear this. Life is so fickle in ways. One moment we have something and the next minute it is gone.
I will be praying for you and for the family. I can only imagine what the daughter is going through.

j, this is awful news. It's hard to lose a friend. He was one of the main reasons you didn't want to leave your current job wasn't he?
I really feel for his daughter. Being that you knew her father so well I'm sure you'll be there for her.
You know we're here if you need us.

j, your friend sounds exactly like my Dad. He and I had that same kind of relationship. If you were lucky enough to have a man like that in your life and consider him as a friend then God really gave you a blessing. I remember when my Dad died there was a co-worker and golfing buddy at the funeral home that stood in front of the casket and cried like a baby. I remember he and I consoling one another and what a comfort he was to me. If I know you at all, you'll be that way to her. You'll tell her how much her Dad loved her and how proud he was of her. I'm sending you a big ((HUG)) kiddo. You and your friends daughter will be in my thoughts and prayers.

You got it Brother....you NEVER know what's going to happen and NO MATTER what we may think of ourselves, we are NEVER immune to such tragedies, especially when someone close to us, CLOSE to our AGE passes on, makes one realize that we are indeed are a fragile species, with feelings that need to be let out!
Hang in there Brother and if you need to talk, gimme a buzz!
