Putting slices of cold cucumber on your tongue helps.

Your post was 4:30pm - I'm guessing that you're...
1.) Relieved, by now. OR -
2.) Still in HELL and TORMENT!
Ice water and Yarrahs's suggestion of cucumbers slices - they DO work!
Hope you recover, angelwing!

I once bought a bag of Cheetos and didn't realize until after I got home that it was the "flamin' hot" kind. I have no idea what possessed me to do it, because I absolutely do not like spicy foods, but I downed the whole thing (I guess I figured that since I bought it, I might as well eat it). I was in agony!

When I was just a wee thing, I decided I'd try some of those red peppers on my grandmother's kitchen counter. Easily the hottest thing I've ever tried in my entire life. I was in some kind of pain. Well, it seemed like the thing to do at the time...
Of course, I'm the same girl who ate a bottle of Bufferin too. But that's a whole 'nother thread.

Eating something sweet will cancel out the heat.

I hate it when you're preparing something which contains a lot of red pepper and then suddenly you just have to scratch your eyelids. Of course you forget that there's still some pepper on your fingers and you start rubbing your eyes...
It hurts...

AH YES....I did that ONE time and ONE time ONLY

Gives a NEW meaning to HOT CHILI
Or after eating something hot, you yell "COME ON ICE CREAM!"

I've heard that habanero sauce has the same effect. I've never tried it so I don't really know.
