Sorry for the short notice but we'll be moving to a new server this week-end. As a result of the move the site will be off-line for 24 hours or so. Keep your fingers crossed that things go quickly.

When the board is down, please visit the chatroom to see your Storm2k buddies and talk about the weather or to get to know other s2k'ers.

You can access the chatroom using Java with this link. Bookmark it now, so you'll have it when the site is down.

There is a privacy pop up that comes up first and you need to select Run.

Its also an IRC chat, so if you have mIRC or Pirch you can use that to chat.

We also have an Off Topic room. It's on the same server. Just type /join #Off_Topic. If you're in Java, it will take you out of Storm2k chat to join the Off Topic chat, but you can be in both with mIRC, etc. You can open 2 Java windows if you want to be in both as well.

Thanks for heads up Marshall. Kelly - the Chat Room is excellent idea but the first thing that popped in my head and don't hate me for it - time to buy paint and paint my daughter's room!

There are members who'd want to keep talking weather though, so I wanted to remind everyone about the chatroom. It's pretty good at relieving those Storm2k withdrawals a little.

Interesting. I'm still seeing the old nameservers, so I'm guessing you haven't started the move yet.

I've rarely experienced any problems with the site loading. Are you upgrading, or just a lateral move for whatever reason?

We're moving due to a change in our hosting provider. The move has started (copying files) but the rest is waiting on the new server to be ready. I would expect the site to be down most of tomorrow.

Thanks for the reply, Marshall. It can take a good 24-48 hours for full DNS propagation, so I'm guessing some members might be able to view the forum before others. The chatroom should serve as a good monitor to the progress.
