I agree that we do not need a politcal forum here. The sniping and flaming that tend to occur with political discussions have no place in a weather community.

Straight from the owners' mouth, and mine also as an admin. There will be no political forums at STORM2K!! The reasons are stated above.

Yeah, the board is much nicer without them. Initially I did miss them when they went away, but I do not at all now.

I miss the political forum, which I bet comes as no surprise to many. 
I can see why the mods don't want to mess with it though.

Opinions irritate people, fact don't. That's why political forums shouldn't be accepted in this weather community.
I love to discuss politics and to listen to the opinion of others since mine isn't always correct, but some people just can handle to hear the opinions of others.

Even facts bother people... even weather-related facts.
Some people cannot handle to hear facts that they don't want to hear.
But... that's not politically related, just an observation on weather.

I go to a bunch of political forums myself. Here it is different, I want to be away from politics. One of the forums I go to, there are trolls who get banned more than 20 times and one who got banned 10 times in one day!

The only thing that will get people wound up tighter than a political topic is a religion topic.
