I think I need to just quit reading news sites. It is one extremely alarming murder case or abuse case, after another. It just never stops.

My heart is breaking for this young girl. I wanted to scream outloud too when I read it.

:-(

Whoever did this needs to suffer like the dog did!!! Not only for the murder but the terrioristic act and the mental pain this poor girl and her family are experiencing. I happen to be a dog lover and even have a dog of my own and if THIS happened to me, there is no telling what I would do. They had a similar situation on the news a few years back that involved a satanic cult who killed a dog. I hope the person(s) who did this gets life in prision. This is just pure downright :grr:!

You know, that is so sick I can't even imagine a punishment to fit such a crime. The sad part is this sicko may not even go to jail, since it was a dog. Years ago, there was a dog (named Gucci) here who was tortured and set on fire. Thankfully, he survived and even became a bit of a celebrity. In fact, about 5 or so years ago, the state legislature passed Gucci's law that made harming/killing a dog a felony. I'm not sure how many states have laws that make animal cruelty a felony. I hope Minnesota does.

There is a good chance that the person is a psychopath. Let's hope the state agrees and send the person away for a very, very long time.

I hope they get this freak off the streets quick!Every single known serial killer that has been interviewed said they started killing stray animals first.

Color me confused.

Why did she say, "Grandma, it's my dog's head!" Why not, "Grandma, it's Chevy's head!" She loved Chevy and told him everything, right? So, why the personal detachment when referring to what was in the box? It's kind of like how Patsy Ramsey (not trying to open a new debate) said, "I'm the mother" not "I'm Jon Benet's mother." Even if Patsy was innocent, it was a bizarre emotional response.

Maybe I watch too many crime shows.

I do not think it is anyone that knows the family at all. I believe it is indeed a psychopath that saw the flyers and found the dog.

I tell you, they need to find this sicko and quick!! I am like you Mary, I am FED UP with reading stories like this! Laws need to be changed and NOW. If you all notice that everytime one of these type stories surface, an animal control officer will say EVERY TIME that he/she has never seen anything like this in the 15 to 20 years on the job. Which means that these horrific crimes against animals are getting more frequent and worse each time. :grr:

Unfortunately true, Mary, that there are horrendous tales around every corner these days. I happen to believe that these kinds of things (and worse) have been going on for hundreds of years; thousands of years. But we are so exposed to it when it happens. Photos accompany the stories. And we get just a tiny bit more calloused with every one.

I also know that I can find a good story every day, I can find a smiling face, or I can MAKE a face smile even on those difficult days. For every negative I can see, I can also find positives as well. And I see promise and resilience and feel the dreams of younger generations for something better and real.

And because of that, I think there is still hope and light in this oft sick world of ours.

While the ugliness of this act can never be taken away, I am sure that there will be many acts of kindness and heartfelt generosity to follow.

Sad, it is. A disappointment in who we are.

But there is still hope in who we can become.

Terrible, terrible news.

I can almost bet it was an ex-boyfriend who wanted to get his revenge.

1) Whoever killed the dog must know that she was close to the dog, and where her house was
2) Valentine's Day candy... big hint

Sounds like a reasonable explanation to me. Whoever...no, whatever it was (whoever is responsible has no shred of humanity left), I hope they solve this case soon.
