She got home around 3:30am last night. The EKG was normal(somehow, I'm not buying into that) and whatever tests they ran other than that have not come back yet. She could not even breathe or move for a while there...

Believe it or not it could have been a severe case of heartburn. I would tend to think that if it was a heart attack she wouldn't be back home. Symptons of severe heartburn can be chest pain with pain in the neck, jaw, arms or legs, shortness of breath, weakness, irregular pulse or sweating. Glad to hear she's doing better.

You definitely could be right CM. However, the other side of this is my father had such severe heartburn that it actually masked 3 heart attacks he had. With a normal ekg though it sounds like this could be the cause unless something else shows on the tests. Prayers still going out though.

Actually, sometimes the EKG at the time of a heart attack can be normal. Blood work would have shown the heart attack. Am I right about that Duckie??
I'm still praying for her.

I am assuming they took some kind of emergency blood tests. I still don't get it.

I hope it is no more than heartburn. I'm glad that the EKG came back normal.
I was diagnosed with GERD last year and I had such a squeezing pain in my chest that it scared the heck out of me! I did not, however, have a problem with moving or breathing.
Prayers are on their way!

It could be heartburn, ulcer, anxiety attack, TIA, etc., etc. Bloodwork Triponin levels and CPK after 48 hours
should show heart attack (they don't show the damage in the heart muscle until then). EKG will show damage sooner
(usually within hours afterward).
I hope she's better, soon, Jeremy! Keep us informed! Prayers going out!

Folks,
Just received word at 0330 that my aunt Kathy Ludwick attempted to commit suicide early this morning. She is now in ICU at Dearborn County Hospital in Lawrenceburg, IN. No word on why or how. Will update when I know more.

She survived the attempt, and will be transported for treatment later today at a mental health facility.
