Typewriters, believe it or not.
My high school still taught a class in typing in the mid-1980s.
The old word processors may have gone in the same direction.

A ruler to spank your hand with and a paddle to spank your bottom. I don't believe they have those anymore. When I was in school, every teacher had them, and used them.

How about atomic bomb drills. Get under your desk, cover your head and face, and never look up untill the all clear went off. What were they thinking???

I tried the paste once or twice, which explains a few things about me.

the high school where my kids went had the Board of Education. (parents sign a consent form for corporal punishment) it had holes drilled in it just like when i was a kid. i never got smacked with it, but i remember how you could hear the air whistle through that baby on the way down!!!

Duck and cover!!! I remember some dumb song that went with the movie we had to watch too...........
I was just telling my kids about this the other day. Seems that duck and cover is coming back into being only now they are called lockdown drills. The more things change, the more they stay the same.......
