Oh how very sad. His loss will be felt for a very long time. I feared it would be one day soon, but you're never really prepaped to lose someone like Bob Hope. Thanks for the memories Bob and supporting the troops thru the years - that is his legacy I think. The support he gave to our soldiers, never wavered. We should all learn from him. RIP.

I heard this on my way to the doctor this morning. I did not have the privilege to see Bob Hope in his prime, but I do know that he was an American institution and I respected him.

Found a wonderful tribute to Bob Hope on TV Guide's website. I imagine this will appear in the next issue.

His dtr. Linda was giving a press conference today and she said his wife Delores always asked him, where did he want to be buried and his answer was, "surprise me." He was funny till the very end. She said he had a smile on his face when he passed on. May he rest in peace.

Bob Hope was a legend and an American icon that entertained generations. In my case, it ranged from the movies he starred in I watched as a child to his Christmas specials every holiday season. I always looked forward to them, and Bob introducing the All-America college football team.

All of my memories of Bob Hope are very happy memories, because he always made the day brighter, and made me smile :)

Rest in peace Mr. Hope...rest in peace.

Thru the years I had a vague memory of Bob Hope coming to town and eating at several local restaurants called Montgomery Inn. I had heard Mr. Hope liked the ribs there. What I didn't realize once he tried the ribs and the special BBQ sauce, he was hooked. For some 40 years now apparently! He became friends with the owner, Ted Gregory who in turn created a Bob Hope room at his riverfront restaurant. With lots of framed, signed pictures, memorbilia, etc. from Bob Hope. There is even table signed by Bob Hope in this room! I've lived here all my life and never realized all of this until now. I imagine the Montgomery Inn Boathouse Restaurant (the riverfront one) was crowded last night, with people wanting to see this room.

Here's a local article in case anyone wants to read about it. What comes thru loud and clear is, Bob Hope was just the way we saw him on TV, down to earth and friendly to everyone. What an icon he was.
