My husband is going to Italy next month on a business trip and wants to know what I want him to bring back for me. Italy is the only European country I've never visited, so I dont know what to ask for. Any Ideas?
I'd like to go with him but am going to AZ to surprise my brother for his birthday instead.
I dont drink alcohol anymore and I already have several varieties of the famed Italian coffees.

Have him bring you back some great Italian wines and some LavAzza coffee. It is the best coffee I have ever had. It is too pricy for me to buy tho. I did buy some on the cruise ship. I think it runs over $25 a pound, but maybe in Italy it is cheaper.

Oh, yes, we love that coffee. We bought quite a bit on the ship, but it was a lot cheaper. I will wait till we take another Italian cruise. We always keep our good wines in our wine cellar mostly for company. I don't drink much alcohol either. It is all Johns hobby.

Yes, great olives and oil in Italy. Also, a nice place to buy a beautiful rosary.....

olive oil in a suitcase is never a good thing. dont like olives... i was thinking more along the lines of something a little more luxurious. jewelry, clothes, etc.....

Well if you trust him there are plenty of clothes choices all over Italy. Not really anything you can pick out...more likely if he is looking he will stumble across something unique for you.
(Still make him bring the olive oil, cheese and some green olives!!!!)

Have him bring you back a cameo necklace. I've been to Italy many times and they make some pretty cameo's there....MGC

I lived in Sicily for 4 years while my husband was in the military - jewelry is a good buy - they have 18k gold and most jewelers there design their own so you get one of a kind pieces. If you love beautiful pottery/ceramics/dinnerware, ask him to locate a Caleca store.
http://www.caleca.org They handpant some of the most beautiful serving dishes I have ever seen. Leather is also a good purchase in Italy. Leather jackets, pocketbooks, wallets... Also, I've made bracelets, earrings and necklaces out of their coins. These are just a few items that I loaded up on before I had to move back to the states. My youngest son was born over there and has dual citizenship.

That is really beautiful pottery. I got a cameo and a handpainted brooch. Look like a Dresden type portrait. Their jewelry is beautiful. Also, we got rosary beads, huge, like the size of tennis balls. They are pretty hanging on a wall. And we got our children huge wooden Pinnocho dolls.

Yes, yes, yes....they do have gorgeous rosaries. And I'm a sucker for a lovely rosary.

I got a small one for myself, kind of like garnet. Beautiful red glass beads.

great ideas, thanks. except now they use euros and i have a lot of that already. those arent very atttractive for jewelry like the old currency was.
