Last summer I paid like 3.50 a gallon in Alaska near Denali. It hurt filling the tank for nearly 50 bucks...MGC

Speaking of high prices.....along the Dalton Highway in Alaska, everything is exorbitantly expensive. North of Coldfoot, there are no highway services, so you'd better bring along extra gas and supplies if you ever want to make the trip up that way. Gas was astronomical a few years back, even near the oil fields at the northern end of the highway....they don't have refineries up there, so the oil has to be processed elsewhere and transported back north.

Edited to add: It seems Coldfoot is apparently so remote that gasbuddy doesn't even have a listing for it.

Some remote stations have been over $5 for quite some time.

Ours seem to be holding steady or dropping a wee bit, after rising rapidly earlier last month.

Since it is so high I don't think I will notice a drop unless it is a drop of over a buck...Even at that price I still can't afford it...

angelwing, how much are those prices for?
Right now per a litre our in England petrol is up to between 90-99P generally, though it seems to be going up every day!

It's around 2.10 dollars to the pound right now I believe, though I could very well be wrong because I've not looked for a little while. The prices are okay here but I think there could be quite a backlash if our government decides to bring in the type of pay as you drive system they want, something like 1.50 per mile in city centers at peak times in the day.

The prices we're discussing are per gallon.

99P per liter equals $7.37 per gallon.

Hehehe, that much!
compare that to what you guys have its very high, but then again we are now known as rip-off Britian, we seem to be above veeryone when it comes to prices, though the benefits do come when you have the pound getting 2 dollars when you go on holiday!
Now imagine possibly having to pay possibly on top of that petrol and you can see why some people are not best pleased. If that occurs i would expect another another protest with lorries causing gridlock like in 2001 I believe.
