I call anything Shabby Chic that doesn't match.

What do you have that you use together in your house that does not match?

Me... my sheets and pillowcases on our bed do not match
... our every day dishes, etc. do not match, they are old, chipped and ugly

When company come... I put out better

Oh, that's funny, I must have OCD too, because everything HAS to match and be in balance. Do you also buy things in two's?

I have 3 bathrooms and they all have curtains, rugs and new towels that match. I have sheets and pillow cases and bedding that matches too. But, we save those for company so they will always be in like new condition. We just are wearing our old stuff out. The old stuff will go to the curb when we move.

ok, thanks... I guess I am that way too..... as I am redecorating each room with new furniture, all the rest of the furnishings have to match. When I finally move, I will have everything I need so I can just party.

I have very eclectic tastes. I love things for what they mean to me. For instance I recently had two Swan Armed chairs from the 30's reupholstered in black micro seude. They previously belonged to my in laws. They look great in my Native American living room. Every room in my house has a different decor. My bedroom is African/Asian, guest bedroom is Florida beach, living room is Native American, main bathroon is Art Deco period, another guest room has a library feel, and my favorite--my studio --is done in early clutter.

Oh, we have some real nice pieces of furniture too that were John's parents and grandparents. I have a piece in each room. His mothers lovely secretary and his grandmother's glider rocker. I think these antiques, etc. look great with any decor.
