Currently the longest-running sitcom on television, "The Simpsons" will celebrate another milestone tonight when the show marks its 399th and 400th episodes.
Airing back-to-back at 7 and 7:30 p.m. on Fox-TV (Channel 32), the episodes will close out the 18th season in much the same manner as the first: by skewering convention, raising a few eyebrows and making us laugh.
How's this for longevity? "The Simpsons" are celebrating their 400th anniversary tonight on Fox. It's the longest-running animated cartoon in television history.

In the first half-hour, the show lampoons "24," the network's hit action series. It features Jack Bauer and Chloe O'Brian (voiced by Kiefer Sutherland and Mary Lynn Rajskub) as they help CTU (Counter Truancy Unit) agents Bart and Lisa diffuse a stink bomb threat at the school's bake sale.
The landmark 400th show is a timely episode that keys on nightly newscaster Kent Brockman, whose on-air use of a vulgarity causes him to become the target of an anti-indecency campaign that gets him fired.
