Are you trying to set the default home page? If you are follow these steps.

1. Open IE
2. Go to the page you want as your new home page
3. Go to Tools-> Internet Options -> click on the "Use Current" button.

All done :-)

There is a trojan that changes your home page. I can't remember what the name is.

Have you run a virus scan and a trojan scan?

That's right Cajun - there are actually many out there. But first, clear your
cache's too. I'll follow Dolphin's lead here....

1: Open Internet Explorer.
2. Click on <Tools> then <Internet Options>.
3. Click on the 'Clear History' tab.
4. Then click on <Delete Cookies> then <OK>.
5. Click on <Delete Files> then check the box for 'Delete all offline content' then click OK.
6. To finish, click on <Apply> then <OK> and close the window.

You should do this at least once a day to prevent malcode and help all the
most recent changes to web pages to load correctly.

By the way, everyone should ensure they have the most recent patches and
updates to all their operating systems and applications loaded by now because a big worm outbreak is expected *very soon*. Also load all the
current security patches and updates. If you get infected, you'll have to
rebuild your entire system anyway if you're running Windows (NT/Windows 2000) so it's better to be proactive.

I clean my cache very often, I have gotten used to doing so... especially when there are issues that come up that it is best that you clear history and delete temporary internet files.

That is what happened to me. George.. if you hit CTRL ALT Delete there is a window that pops up on your screen. If you see something called "iexplore" then it is definitely a trojan. This trojan puts it's own version of IE in there and will direct you where it wants you to go. If you see that you need to have your PC cleaned.

Ok, It's still doing it for some reason. I pressed Ctrl+Atl+Delete. It's
still showing that webpage. I did the instructions that Marshal Told me,
and I checked IE today, It's still there. :( :x I'm not sure how to
operate the "Trojan" Thing. After pressing those 3 buttons, I'm not sure
how to tell if my PC is cleaned. :( I still need some help on how to get it
back on the ISP page.

IEXPLORE.EXE is the name of the executable for the real internet explorer.

It's probably a hoax as the only info I can find on such a virus online says that it is. However, more research is necessary before I can be sure. In the meantime, it's probably best not to delete iexplore.exe since it is a legitimate program.

However, I did find info on a virus that renames important files (for example, iexplore.exe as iexplore_.exe). For more info: http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.hllc.abessive.html

I had that trojan but for the life of me I can't remember the name. You can run a free trojan scan at http://www.simplysup.com

I have Trojan Remover and it's found some stuff for me.

You can also run a free virus scan online at http://www.pc-cillin.com. Click on housecall and it will walk you through step by step.

Speaking of trojans and viruses and all that stuff, has anyone else encountered one of those darned programs that automatically starts downloading onto your computer? This is what I get for leaving my DSL logged in and walking away.

I have some crap called n-Case on my machine now. It's from 180Solutions and it's supposed to automatically load popup ads...and it does its job very well, much to my chagrin. I tried to delete it, uninstall it, change the regedit...nothing works.

I don't even have to have my browser open and stuff popups. Just being logged into my DSL connection gets it started.

It's not from visiting any crappy stuff sites or casino sites cuz I don't do that. My typical web browsing consists of news, weather, my Yahoo and AOL email, a couple of fitness sites, and a handful of movie, TV, and celeb fan sites.

Anyone have any idea what else I can do?

Thanks!
