I just recieved this from a friend in Alabama...and it's so very true.

Nancy Reagan tells the story of how President Ronald Reagan was once challenged by a college student who said it was impossible for Reagan's generation to understand his.

"You grew up in a different world," the student said. "Today we have television, jet planes, space travel, nuclear energy, computers. ..."

Taking advantage of a pause in the student's litany, Reagan said, "You're right. We didn't have those things when we were young. We invented them."

Reagan was a very quick witted man. That came from his years growing up hard and with his acting.

Yep, and he did not take any crap either!! That is what I loved about President Reagan!! Colin Powell reminds me of Reagan. He is also witty in his replies.

Regan IMHO was one of the best there ever was and will be..I will never forget going to holland and Germany back in 1987 and seeing the Berlin wall.. then in 1989 "Mr Gorbechev tear down that wall" I really admired his presence..I guess thats the right word!!! He was definetely a peoples President :wink:

Former president Reagan's remark sorta reminds me of something my mom used to say when I was being a brat

"Don't get too big for your britches son. If it weren't for me...you wouldn't even be here" :lol:
