For those of us who consume alcoholic beverages (BEER :ggreen: ) Which do you prefer, bottles or cans?

I CANNOT stand beer in a CAN, soda for that matter, it HAS to be in a bottle, period...I like to SEE what I'm consuming! :ggreen:

Well I have been on both sides of this fence before. I have been through different phases throughout my drinking life. Only was on the bud light in a can kick for a year or so. I always did prefer bottles before that and lean toward the bottles even now when I do drink beer.

Hey Dennis I didn't think they made MGD in a bottle.

Bottles definitely! It may be a mental thing, but I feel like they're colder in a bottle or something....

I'm not much of a beer drinker, but I do enjoy a good beer now and then, especially with boiled seafood, Chinese food, barbecue or sushi. The only American beer I really like is Shiner Bock and I definitely prefer bottles to cans. My favorite beer is probably Negra Modelo.

Absouletly!! Some folks say you can't taste the metal but I'm sorry, w/ beer, YES you can! Now soda...I can't taste the metal.

I REALLY miss the old tyme soda machines with the bottles, NOTHING tasted SO good as a Dr. Pepper from a bottle or a ice cold coke with "PEANUTS/GOBBERS" in it!

Well, nothing beats a Coke in a small glass bottle. And I'm a Pepsi drinker myself.....LOL There's just something about that Coke bottle that makes all the difference......we went to a club a few years ago and the bar served Coke in individual bottles. You should have seen how many beer drinkers were having a Coke or two during the evening. I think I even skipped beer that night.....

Mostly we buy cans, since they're easy to recycle and no broken glass in the recycle bin or on the street (our trash collectors are sloppy).....

Question - I heard there might be a medical connection between aluminum cans and Alzheimers? Has anyone heard this? Because when I was growing up very few products came in cans and the only time we opted for cans was when packing for a picnic or going camping. We always had beer and soda, and also milk, in glass bottles. Now there are so many products in cans - even lemonade and tea.

Interesting Mary....I know our VERY best friends are both pharmacists and they make their own deodorant and other personal hygiene products due to the aluminum in the stuff like that. Look at B.O.D.O....it's FULL of aluminum!

I prefer beer in glass bottles. Cans are easier to recycle though. I'm waiting for beer in 2-liter plastic bottles :P

Yep. Nothing beats Coke in a bottle, or beer for that matter. I can truly taste the difference between a canned Coke and a bottled Coke.

I haven't heard about the aluminum and Alzheimer's connection before, but it might be worth examining on a serious basis. It wasn't too many years ago that people swore DDT was the best thing since sliced bread. DDT was good for killing mosquitos, but it also turned out to be good for creating havoc, too.

Oh, and I also discovered that if you leave an unopened can of Coke in your car for a few hours on a hot summer day, it will explode. :grr:

For beer, bottles only. Soda, it doesn't matter.
