Hopefully none of it comes to fruition, but this week has all kinds of good timings - 7/4/07, a day that would hurt Americans if something happened....7/7/07 - Saturday's unusual date.....who knows. A lot of the point of terrorism is to keep us all on edge, wondering, and in fear.

I wouldn't expect an attack on a significant date (Wednesday) or the anniversary of any other attack (Saturday). They generally don't pick dates when people are expecting anything. The only time they did that (1/1/00), they failed miserably.
Also, isn't a variation of this story published every summer?

7/7 is also the date of the attacks in London in 2005.

What's to fear? You or I can be killed in the blink of an eye in a car accident, a meteor falling, a fire, a random gunshot! With my job, I face 500x's the danger of a terrorist attack but I don't live in fear! I stay ever vigilant, ever weary, eyes open, watch my back constantly and go about life. If we let these scumbags try to intimidate us then they WIN!

Regardless, you have a simple choice. Let your fear of terrorists, both real and imagined, change the way you live, or don't. If you do, then the real terrorists have won because that's what they want.

I think that another attack would pi** us off more than it would intimidate us.

I know I don't live in fear at all - life is too short. I am, however, very vigilant which if we quit hearing about things we might forget to be.

complacency will be a great tool for the terrorists. People are so desentisized and I believe that is by design. Since 9/11 there have been many empty threats, some smaller scale attacks and a lot of hot air and the public has been either lulled into a false sense of security or are just down right tired of it all and will largely ignore the noise in the system and let down their guard.
How perfect is that? But then again, as many pointed out, walking around in fear all the time will serve nothing and no one. Bottom line is, when it happens again what even form "it" takes, we will be taken by surprise.
