Administration to Pay $30M in Reward to Iraq Tipster Who Helped Lead U.S. to Saddam's Sons

I believe the man who was letting them stay at his home is going to get the money. It was 15 million a piece for the sons. Just think if there would have been no reward, they would still be at his home. I do not think that man should get the money because he allowed them to stay there until he found out about the money. JMO.

Didn't they find cash with them that totaled more than $30 million?. Hey if that's what it takes, pay 'em off. Perhaps this will reduce the time and/or loss of life that is required for the US to get finished there. In that case, $30 million is chump change. Heck, one airplane costs more than that.

They found 100 million in dinars and American dollars. The United States seized that money to go into the rebuilding fund of Iraq. I saw where another man did not know about the money but had suspicions Nawaf was hiding someone in his house. He told a reporter had he known about the reward he would have called our troops. There is no telling how long that Nawaf man let them stay there before he got greedy. He in no way deserves it.

I couldn't agree more Linda....although I think he should get a token Mil just for good measure.

Now....what to do with the remaining 29 mil:

Take 15,000,000 of it, divide it amongst the 150,000 Troops (or however many it was), as a gesture of appreciation for service to your Country.
(that's 100,000 apiece if you're not good at math)

Double the payout to surviving spouses of soldiers killed in active duty.

Put the remaining 14,000,000 in an interest gathering trust fund for future benefit packages.

Make this a benefit package for all future soldiers who may be asked to go to War for their Country.

Oh...and forget about a Draft.

I didn't hear the whole story about who it was that turned them in. I think that he should still be paid anyhow because if we don't, it'll give the US a black eye and there will be NO INCENTIVE for anyone to turn in Saddam Hussein!

Heck, if you think about it, Saddam's sons probably would've done the same thing!

Steph... Nawaf let those two stay there for a while until he found out about the reward. THEN and only THEN did he turn them in. He is also seeking asylum in another country because he can no longer go back to his neighborhood. Why? because he let those two stay with him causing us to bomb in their neighborhood.

If Najaf has any sense, he will assemble his family, charter a plane and fly to some place safe...like HERE, and ask for political asylum.

If he stays in Iraq, his life can be counted in minutes.
