A subtle hint of a change

I know, I know, I'm probably crazy, there's no denying it but I swear, I feel a VERY subtle hint of a change in the air today, a subtle hint of autumn. The air smells different, a different feel to it, my yellow labradors nose has a hint of pink in it PLUS....all the DAM SKUNKS are moving around BIG TIME!!

Autumn? Yeah, you are crazy! lol
It's in the 90's here with a 600° heat index... no hints of autumn here.

I think you've had a few too many there, friend. It's hotter than the depths of hell right now and by all indications it will remain so forever. My AC bill is going to be devastating.

LOL! Yeah Beam....I went through that about 3 weeks ago, I've yet to see the electric bill!
Seriously, it's 1113 hours MST and I'm sitting at 69° with a breeze out of the north @ 14 mph...Virginia Creepers are showing a few red leaves, Autumn aysters are beginning their bloom, wild sunflowers in full bloom, Cow Pen Daisies are blooming PLUS WalMart has their Fall Decorations out so it HAS to be FALL

Already???? Christmas stuff will be going up in a week or two.

Halloween costumes should go up in October, IMO. Do you really need nearly 3 months to pick out a costume and some candy for the trick-or-treaters? And I think Christmas stuff should go up in November... a few weeks before Thanksgiving seems like PLENTY of time to pick up whatever you need for those who decorate shortly after or around, Thanksgiving.
They already had bathing suits on clearance here in July! We still had 2 - 3 months left of swimming weather.
Let each season (holiday) have its time before shoving the next one in our material faces.

In a month or two I might get lucky enough to smell or feel the first hints of change..but for now it is still very much summertime in southeast Texas.

No signs of it here. Summer is still going on blast. Near the end of August the sumac starts to turn red and we often get a nice cold front around then too.

Our leaves are falling, but only because we haven't had half of a 6 oz. glass-full
of rain all summer! Autumn won't have the usual beauty this year, I'm afraid.

What I will say is that I'm seeing cobwebs on my evergreens already and I've seen a squirrel bury the peanuts that we feed them every morning. That's usually a sign of autumn around here.
However, right now it's the 3 H's and I just heard some thunder. I hope we get that rain - it's getting way too dry around here from the sunny, 90 degree days we've had for the past week.

after two weeks of storms in the late afternoon, the mornings are quite brisk here. our pinons are chock full and it wont be long. i'm looking forward to fall after a relatively mild summer here. i dont believe we ever saw a day past 90 at the house... i AM wondering what this winter will bring, since last winter we had approximately 90 inches of snow at the house.

My elevation is about 15 feet and the temperature should be in the 90s today. The humidity will be about the same. Autum shows up around November for a few weeks. Then we have two days of "winter" followed by weeks of perfect weather.

Yeah there's been a subtle hint at change here, too. It's hotter than it's been all summer so far!

At least you guys get seasons. Try 90F (32C) year-round.

Right now it is 91 degrees but because of the 52% humidity level it feels like 97 degrees. I hope by the time school starts on the 20th it starts to cool down a little. Otherwise I will be soaking wet by the time my afternoon crossing duty is over.

All I can say is it is AFRICA hot here in Brevard County and it appears it is here to stay for a while. We dont get seasons anyways, we get weather.

Must be nice. . .

. It is supposed to hit 100 degrees F midweek here in NC. . . It probably won't start cooling down until mid-September, just in time for the autumn equinox (first day of fall). . .
