Is John Edwards for real?

He's the psychic on the Sci-Fi channel that gets "impressions" from people who have passed, much to the amazement of the "subjects" picked from the studio audience. I say it's FAKE FAKE FAKE. Maybe it's stupid to even put this up for discussion. But there are some people out there who do think he's for real. He always has words of comfort and happy thoughts for the surviving family members. I'm sure there's some people "on the other side" that would want to give some people "here" a good piece of their mind.

Waddayasay?

I agree...fake. Just like that woman who claims she can tell people what their pets are thinking.

Total bunk.

But then again, I'm known in my office as the world's biggest skeptic. Snopes.com is one of my favorite websites.

Whatever anyone else may believe, I consider John Edwards more credible than any of the nine Democratic Presidential "wannabes".

Actually, I'm not so sure if John Edward is fake ... sure, he's vague, but I've heard a good slew of people tell me John Edward is legit. I've also heard a good slew of people that he's not. Like I said, I'm not so sure, but I'm open-minded to the idea. I would love to have one reading right off the rip without him having any information about me to know for myself.

About the woman who knows what their pets think... Ok, this will be eerie.
The Bob and Tom Show had her on as a guest (by phone) ... Bob, Tom, and Chick all sent pictures of their pets and anyone that follows/listens to the Bob & Tom Show weekday mornings will know how big a skeptic Tom Griswold is. Tom doesn't believe in the abilities of John Edward. But in regards to the animal "psychic", he was totally convinced ... he actually had chills go down his spine, and then when she told Chick McGee what his dog was thinking ...

I quote from her ... "Chick, your dog wants to exercise more and for you to get up off your lazy ass and walk me some more"... Bob, Tom, and Kristy were in uproaring laughter.

There will always be skeptics, no matter what the subject at hand may be. I have no doubt John Edward is for real. I am also a medium and I work in a similar manner that John does. I don't do podium readings which is his method, but I can say I have reunited hundreds of families with those that have passed.

I was very apprehensive about my abilities for many years based upon my Christian upbringing and my beliefs. I ignored and pushed it away time and time again. When I asked God to take the abilities away, they became stronger. After years of torment, I finally confided in my mother who is a minister in a Christian Church. We spoke about it in detail and she told me that all of her life, she too has been highly intuitive and clairvoyant.

I still have a hard time telling people I do this because I am afraid of the judgement and disbelief that would come my way. The more I tell people, the easier it becomes. I am in the process of developing my own website to advertise my services. This is in no way an advertisement for business as I am not doing any readings for the time being, but I did want to share with you that there are people out there who are genuine and do not charge $300. I will never become rich in the monetary sense from doing readings, however I do feel a special richness in sharing validations from those who have passed with those left behind.

I thought I would share this with you for those skeptical of John Edward.

I believe that their are people with ESP abilities - but I also believe that there are ways to be "taught" how to give fortunes and read a person's history through cards, palms, etc. There are some people with an uncanny ability to "know". I've heard about John Edwards but I've never seen any of his shows.

Fake! You can tell he is guessing, and he is just using the people at their weakest state. Of course some old woman probably came on to talk to her dead husband or middle aged woman came to talk to her dead child or young adult came to talk to their dead parent.

Freaky, In christian circles, that could be seen as a prophetic gift. I am in no position to pass judgement on you.

I'm curious: Have you ever given someone bad news, or expressed something that made them sad or angry? To me, the bad would have to come with the good.

I wonder why he would go in the direction of doing it on TV. My thoughts on John are based on 1. Never any bad news. 2. No professions of faith in God, and 3. The fact that he's on TV, selling advertising.
I suppose that in a commercial venture, he doesn't have to ask for donations, but I would struggle with the idea that he's using a gift from God.

I have lost many loved ones during my life. I've watched John with skepticism and sometimes amazement. I certainly wish that I could communicate one last time with loved ones who have passed just to let them know how much I love them and how wonderfully they contributed to my happiness. I'm sure most folks who have experienced losses feel the same way - especially when the loss was sudden and there was no time for these words. That's why I always say "appreciate every day - don't forget to tell the special people in your life that you love them."

I say my prayers every night and I know God will pass on my messages.

Beautifully put Karan!

Having been raised in a family that did not tolerate or allow any interest in afterlife or reincarnation, I have tip-toed around occasions and happenings in my life for which there is no explanation. Too many times things happen that seem to be calling out to me to change the beliefs of my upbringing!

I have watched John Edwards a few times this summer......there's another fella on just before him.......they both seem to have the ability to know things about their guests that are very surprising! Fakes?? Sure, there are tons of them everywhere.....but there is so much we do not know and understand about this.

FreakyWxChick, I think your post here took courage.....and I would love to talk with you! Several years ago, I attended a forum with my daughter and her friend. I thought it was a "Health Forum"....it was more to do with super-natural things.

I talked for the first time in my life with a medium.......it was both amazing and somewhat upsetting how well she knew me and my life. The girls decided to get a pic of their aura.......I watched for 30 minutes to see if a pattern could be established in how the pics turned out for everyone before I decided to do this myself.

Seeing the astonished look on the lady as she pulled off the paper on that poleroid snapshot.....then having her tell me that MY picture was only the 3rd one she'd ever seen with the coloration that appeared set me back a little! She asked me if I were a medium. Many colors were in huge balls surrounding me....my pic was very different from the layered looks of color the girls had.

So much we all need to learn yet........why is this an area that scares so many people?............p
