Yes weatherbuddies, tis that time of year AGAIN to gather round the Pot Bellied Stove and share the event of our day and of course, the weather!
The Pot Bellied Stove thread was started during the dark days after September 11th 2001. It was created as a healing place, a place to share our fears, our hopes, our dreams.
So come on in, pull up a chair, put up yer feet and enjoy the glow of true weather buddy friendship.

Ok Bill! Here it is, just for YOU my Brother

Gotta admit, it's pretty friggin' COOL here too! Hit a high of 58° today with a STIFF NE breeze of 16 mph, gave a CHILL to the air
Fall is, without a DOUBT, my MOST favoritist time of year! The cool air, the smell of woodstoves/fireplaces burning!
That's nuff for now, enjoy the fire Bill...AnnaBelle, she be a ho, has a pillow near the stove JUST fer her!

Ahhhh, the warmth of the stove once more. Many a friendship and lifelong bond have been developed and nurtured at this stove.
Bill, Dennis, I made some cocoa and brought some snickerdoodles. David, I left the chocolate covered KK's on the sideboard. I'll brew some Earl Grey for Miss Mary.
Granny's afgan is laying on the rocker for anyone that needs that extra warmth.

Nobody should be afraid of the Nannerbelle (she BE a ho')...all she'll do is lick them to death. She's still the "Thing of Things, and the Ho' of Ho's"..."Best of Ho'"..."Nasty Thing", etc., etc., and on her eighth year of being a ho'.
She be whoring as I type this...I'm eating "people food", and Princess Gimmesome wants it!

Its not that cold yet.... and there are leaves on the trees here in Wisconsin..... yes the are changing. Its always nice to see the colors. Slowly, everyone will start filtering in...... with the smells of fresh apple cider and KK's and of course the warm afghan.
I'm actually at home..... for once..... I decided that I needed some time at home to recoop from the flying and the 17 days of he!! up at Fairchild AFB (survival, evasion, resistence education.... SERE.) Its needed for all aircrew personnel. I now realize that I have knees and toes... I still have nerve damage in my toes.... and lots of nightmares from the resistence phase.

survival, evasion, resistence education, escape.....
Sounds like parenting four teenage boys!
Hello everyone, it went up to 55 today, but it was rainy and dreary. I couldn't get warm all day. Let me get some hot chocolate.
My back flared up again. MRI indicated herniated lumbar disk. I spent the weekend before last, in pain in bed all weekend. Since then it's slowly improving. I see a neurologist on Nov. 20-something. Getting a new mattress. Taking the rest of the year off from biking. This flareup and the first one were both related to mis-use while biking. Guess I'm not young anymore, so I better realize that I shouldn't try to compete with those youngsters, even though its fun beating them.

But if you could hold up under that, no North Korean (expletive unwritten) should be able to "get to you". That's why SERE is mandatory for aircrews.

Is it that time of year again already? Where has the year gone. Just popping in to let you know that my first year of teaching is going excellent. I love my job, even if it keeps me busy about 18 hours out of the day!

Hola people! Whew I am tired! We had a big dine-in Thanksgiving dinner today at work. All the family members could come and eat with there loved ones. I work at a nursing home in dietary BTW, and it was really nice. They did it a week early so family members could still travel for Thanksgiving if they are. So I left a nice hot toddy for anyone who needs to relax by the stove! Hope everyone is well!
