My hubby and I are going down to the Key West area to spend Christmas with our youngest son and his family. While I am there my son will help me build a new computer for myself. It will have a nice case with room to add several hard drives and can be seen at Tiger Direct by typing in this code in the search box:ULT31586. The motherboard is can seen by typing this code in the search box:G452-2344. The video card was changed from the one I picked by son who was at the Tiger store in Miami yesterday and he picked up a better card.

If you are going all out with a new PC, get a monitor with a resolution of 1600x1200. It is well worth it.

The monitor I am currently using is less than 2 years old. A Flat screen, so I will keep it and use it. Trying to keep the cost down by not buying a new monitor. It sits on a desk that will not hold a monitor that size and the tower case.

I love building PC's. :) It's like a hobby for me. You end up with a high performance machine for very little cost.

I thought since I had been replacing parts of this computer I might as well try building one from the bottom up but I was going to wait till I had enough money to buy all the pieces at one time but son said he would cover half the price of a new one if I would go for a build your own. So I researched cases, motherboards and everything else finally settling on those. The video card my son picked out is a better card than the one I had picked because it has more dedicated memory for the graphics. I will be getting it all put together at Christmas when we go down there. I will reuse the keyboard and mouse since they are still usable.
