With Black friday only 5 days away, who is going shopping? here is a link to some of the sales.
http://www.blackfriday.info/

One other question, has anyone ever tried to order the item they want online instead of going to the store?

I read another black friday board. Many of these boards have gotten cease & desist letters and legal action threatened because the bf sale ads were leaked. I like seeing the ads before Thanksgiving day so i can leisurely go thru them and map out my strategy if i plan on going out.

I have heard Black Friday will not have many good deals. They will likely you have to find it yourself. Catalogs are getting leaked days in advanced.

Ah black friday...the shoving, juking, stiff-arming, and gang tackling that old lady that took the last DVD player off the shelf...good times.

I won't be going anywhere near a shopping center that day! I'll probably be asleep for most of the sales times anyway... so while everyone is out killing each other I'll be thinking of them. :P

I may venture out - but not at 4 or 5 am in the morning to be first in line!

I'll probably stay away from the mall and go to Kohl's or Target.

Is this the thread to post Black Friday deals??

http://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=23991
Came across this about Walmart:

On 11/24 at 8:00am (running through 11:59pm on 11/25), the 80GB PS3 ($499) will come with 10 FREE Blu-ray movies instantly. You choose any 10 BD titles under $30 within the store and they will override the prices to zero. For those stores that carry BD already, additional titles are being sent in for the sale. For those that do not have BD in their store (a small minority) product will be sent to each store specifically for this sale.

Black Friday - ugh! For years I worked the day after TG so I couldn't shop. Then I was a college student late in the game (age 30), didn't have money to shop. LOL Eventually I had two little kids and couldn't shop - who would want to? LOL Fast forward to now and well, my pattern of skipping this infamous shopping day is ingrained in me. I avoid this day like the plague.

Besides, sales have already started and you really don't ~need~ to shop on Black Friday to get good deals.

I have shopped online instead of purchasing an item in store. Sure beats trying to find a parking spot, fighting the crowds and you can do it all in your pj's! Now that's a "deal"!

But more power to anyone who loves shopping on Black Friday. I just prefer to skip.

And finally, my idea of a perfect Black Friday is playing xmas music and decorating my house. All in one fell swoop - I've just never been able to pull it off though.

As for me, I'm gonna be visiting some friends of mine when the stores are crowded. Sure the deals look nice, but they'll be gone by the time I get to them.

Some stores are honoring their 30 day low price guarantees for black friday.
That is a problem with leaking the Black Friday ads early. Otherwise people would just return the merchandise if they could not get a price adjustment.

This year Kmart has had better sales than Walmart with a 20% off coupon good on any single item (this week) on top of already discounted items.

And ANOTHER plus for KMART is they still do "Layaway"....Walmart made a HUGE mistake IMHO by doing away with layaway  I make pretty decent money and I still use layaway on a few items, I can't imagine what some people are doing who are making less than $50K!!

I avoid the stores on Black Friday like the plague. My daughter is the crazy one who gets up at an ungodly hour to be first in line.

I have gone shopping on Black Friday... it's an adventure that everyone should experience at least once. *evil grin* You'll never forget it.

The last couple of years, I have decided that no deal is worth fighting those crowds. Besides, I've done well shopping online and shopping store sales before and after Black Friday. Thanksgiving is a long day that carries well into the night with my family. To go shopping on Black Friday, I've had to operate on just a couple of hours of sleep, usually following several nights of little sleep beforehand. A shot of speed to a pound of coffee is no match to my droopy eyes on Black Friday.

With all that said... I may be going this Friday after all. Not because I don't want to miss a deal, but because I want to buy something and this may be the only way I can get it. I want to buy a Wii and I know where I can get it that morning. I've had no luck the past few weeks locating one and I refuse to pay twice the price (or more) on Ebay.

I used to go shopping on Black Friday. No thanks - been there - done that.

The other sale that is bad is going to Hallmark on the day after Christmas. Those women will just about knock you over!

TIP - just got the Ace Hardware sale paper in the mail today. If anyone is looking the a little red wagon - the Radio Flyer one. They have it on sale for 1/2 off.
