What time are you eating tonight? I am eating at 5. WHen I was growing up, we started to eat around 3:30.
Does anybody know why Thanksgiving dinner is so early? I have no idea.

We have always eaten around 12 to 1 since I was a child. Maybe because family came from just about everywhere from the Carolinas south. We still eat around the same time now even though there are just a few of us now. Just tradition I guess.

WHen I was growing up it was 12:30-1PM so everything would be done by 3 and we could just relax later and much if we were hungry. The hubby is used to 5PM so dinner is at 5, sigh

So early? And here I was thinking....
wow, they eat their Thanksgiving dinner late!
We like to eat before the Cowboys come on, and during the game, people are still going back for perhaps a little more, and/or desserts. It's usually around 1:00 - 2:00 pm when we eat. And if everyone isn't too stuffed later that night, we eat again, sometimes eating the same thing or grabbing something we didn't have room for the first time. We always have too many choices. Everyone brings dishes to my parent's house, but my mom still cooks a ton of stuff. We do have a lot of people there though.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Already had it at lunchtime. I didn't think that was considered abnormal.

Going to relax and watch TV tonight.
