I am never going to a public laundry room ever again

So tonight, I needed to do some laundry and put a couple loads in my apartment complex's washing machines. It takes a half hour to wash, and I indeed return a half hour later.
All of my favorite shirts are gone.
I have searched the premises but have seen nothing. I'm planning to go to the apartment office first thing in the morning to see if anything may have turned up (remote but I'm pretty hot-headed right now). Is there ANY other chance I may have of getting my clothes back? If there is, PLEASE let me know. Some of my t-shirts are unavailable online and I would have to have a friend from Michigan buy one for me and then I would pay them back. (Keep in mind I went to a small college that doesn't have an online store. Some of my favorite t-shirts from there are gone.)
But with what happened tonight, let me say again,
I AM NEVER GOING TO A LAUNDROMAT OR PUBLIC LAUNDRY ROOM EVER AGAIN AFTER TONIGHT!
OK, I'm off my soapbox. Still pretty upset though.

I'm sorry about what happened, but I have never left my clothes in an apartment complex laundry or public laundry. This kind of theft happens all the time. Also, I've seen people take clothes out of a washer and throw them on the floor because they needed the washer.

I doubt there's anything you can do.
Are you absolutely sure those shirts were in your laundry? I can't imagine why someone would rifle through your wet laundry and pull out t-shirts from an obscure college...
On the bright side, if someone did take them, they should be pretty easy to spot in your complex when they wear them.

Sorry to hear someone thought they needed your clothes more than you.

Usually a laudramat will have signs telling you not to leave clothes unattended. Unfortunately someone stealing your clothes is a risk you take when you leave them unattended. Keep an eye out for your college tshirts....you know who will be wearing stolen merchandise when you see your shirt being worn by someone!
I learned this lesson the hard way also. All my aerobic clothes (think olivia newton john type leotards back in the early 80's

) were all stolen out of our apt. laundramat. We were only 2 apts. away from it.

Yeah, I did put them in, and they were missing, I double-checked to make sure I forgot to put them in. I hadn't. In addition, when I returned, the washers had already been opened.
However, I think I may have seom hope. I have one remaining t-shirt from my college that I didn't put in the laundry and I still have my student ID. If there is a way to use those to my advantage and get my clothes back safely, I will do so.
Most of my shirts that were lost were unique to Michigan, not Arizona.

When I was in college, people would leave their clothings inside the laundry or dryer machine all day and it was when all the machines were used. Sometimes, they would in there for days. I had to take them out, even though I didn't like doing that because it could get stolen.

Well people will steal anything. Someone once stole prescription sunglasses out of my car.
I hope they got one hell of a headache.

sometimes, laundromats have closed circuit cameras installed in inconspicous places, so you might want to check with management. Even though for sure, management wont accept responsibility, but in the event they might have had cameras, they might be able to check.
Im sure you thought about that already though.

I've had friends whose clothings have been stolen even when the machine was running.
