Britney Spears has lost control of her assets after a Los Angeles court commissioner placed her estate under temporary conservatorship.

This follows the actions of her desperate parents Jamie and Lynne Spears who went to court this morning to try and regain control of their daughter's finances from her manager Sam Lufti.

He is now banned from seeing her under a 22-day civil harrassment restraining order that will prevent him from visiting the hospital she is being treated in.

Looks like a head start for 2008.

That crazy 22nd amendment means GWB won't be running this year, nor will Bill Clinton be able to run as Ms. Clinton's VP.

If that's what they want to call it. She is famous and has problems with drugs and is under a standoff with the police and gets taken to the hospital instead of Jail, typical celebrity treatment. Recent pictures of her this past month she has sores on her face, bad teeth and a blank stare. I'd say she's on some major drugs. I feel bad for those kids, they are in great danger around her.

If it's self-induced (drugs or alcohol), then I feel less sorry for her, but no matter what it is, I really feel bad for those kids. They should not be witnessing all this drama and they need a stable mom. For their sake, I hope she gets her act together and becomes a good mom eventually.

People make jokes, but it truly is a sad situation. Regardless of what she's done to herself (and I've never been a fan), I don't want to see her end up dead.

All toxicology report came back negative according to several reports. All reports point to a severe psychological disorder.

Interesting point Regit. I never even stopped to consider that she might have something very wrong with her health-wise outside of substance abuse.

I agrew with the comments. If she continues down this path, she'll end up like Marilyn Monroe or Anna Nicole Smith. So much potential and so much going for her and she ends up like this.

I agree, though if she is a heavy drinker or abuser of drugs, she's probably self-medicating. She's really gone off the deep end and needs some serious help. However, she's the only one that can get that ball rolling unless she's put away.

What a shame!

Brittney Spears should just disappear from the public especially in the mental state she is in. I think actually all the attention she is getting is actually contributing to her problem. It gives her more stress and many mental illness tend to be worsened by stress. I feel for her children.

I'm beginning to wonder if she has bipolar disorder. Stress and drugs can really worsen it.

That's what I am thinking too. It is a known fact that bipolar disorder, like many other mental illnesses are worsened by stress and drugs. All the attention, Spears has been getting is making it worse. I know actress Kristy McNichols of Empty Nest fame had to to quit acting because she had bipolar and all the attention and stress from her stardom took a toll on her.

Something tells me we're not gonna see/hear the end of Chris Crocker's ranting about people takin' bad about Britney.

I heard it mentioned on one of the gossip shows yesterday or today that she is bipolor but kept reassuring her family that she had everything under control. She's a legal adult so there isn't much anyone can do.

This whole media circus around her is ridiculous. I'm sure it's hurting her mentally.
