We have had several incidents lately where things have gotten out of hand. I want everyone to remember that we are here as an extended internet family. Most of us have migrated here to escape the flaming and trash that is happening on so many other boards. We will conduct ourselves in a respectful manner! This is on our opening page...

Our mission at STORM2K is to provide a friendly, family type environment for our members and guests to enjoy our common love of nature's weather in all her glory and power. Please join us and help make this an even better place!

Those who embrace this misson are welcome. Those who can't need to leave. I'm not being mean but that's the way it is. We allow debate on any topic here as long as it's done with respect. What I've seen lately is a lack of respect in a lot of posts. We all have strong feelings about certain subjects but if you can't debate a subject without emotions taking over then you need to leave it alone.

Every family fights but remember... we're family! Democrat, Republican, Gay, Straight, Pro-Choice, Pro-life, fisherman and golfer, Ladies and Real Women and yes even the Mods and Admins. Let's take a step back and remember why we're here!

I have been out of the loop, but let's make love...not war. (Or at least something to that respect!)

Thank you for your post ! I have to admit I was really enjoying myself here. Then some of the topics became too on edge and people got irritated w/ ea other. It turned me off. I've stuck to the "Garden of Weedin'" instead of participating in other forums. I come here to get away and to relax, not to get upset by peoples bickering.

Everyone has dif. opinions. You can't force your thoughts onto others w/o some striking back. I've been tempted several times to voice my opinions on some of these "hot" topics but instead decided to not continue the circle of anger. Respect seems to have been forgotten by some of us.....~K

I am so sorry that you've felt you couldn't participte in the other forums. That is not what S2K is all about. I guess it's enevitable with some of the topics that we debate that sometimes things will get out of hand a bit. Please give the rest of us a chance by joining in some of the discussions. The Admin and Mod team have comitted to cleaning up things a bit.

Thanks for starting this thread Marsahll.. Some of the things we have seen here as of late are just appauling... Lets remember we are adults here, and we DO NOT run a baby sitting center.. If cutting someone down to help your ego is something you need then go do it elsewhere, because we will NOT Tolerate it here.. pvroses im sorry that you have bothered by the imaturity and the lack of respect others have been dising out here as of late... It will NOT happen anymore so please continue to grace us with your presance Your not the only one that has been feeling this way, and today it STOPS.. Some have already been spoken to and others also will be, but consider this an open warning to everyone... Sorry to have to post such a "downer" but needed to give everyone a reminder as to what storm2k is all about... NO TROLL ZONE Now lets get back to making this the best board on the net!!!!

Here is my reply to Marshall and Chad's post - us admins here at Storm2k take our job seriously and are determine to make this place the best site on the internet. Sometimes we have to do things we don't like doing - but its for the good of the board. Just remember when posting topics - think of the implications.

As Chad said - we aren't a babysitting service and we ourselves enjoy participating in the posts of the boards - but when we have to be behind the scenes having to exert or gain control because of flamewars - its makes it hard.

I hope everyone continues to enjoy his/her time on the board - we enjoy bring this site to you for your enjoyment.

I definitely enjoy my time here. This is by far the best Wx Board on the Net, and it will stay that way. I know I sometimes add to the problems with my short posts, and I will work on those. Hopefully I have not added to the flaming problems recently; and if I have, please feel free to approach me and talk to me about it. I would love to hear from you.

Great posts, guys...I truly enjoy being here and to tell you the truth, I haven't seen any problems around these parts. This is one of the best boards I've ever seen, and I need to comment especially on Chad, Marshall, and Ticka...aka the ADMIN team. You guys are incredible. You are on top of everything, and really make this board a real comfortable place to be.

And Mods, you also do an exceptional job...Luis, Amanzi, bfez, Dennis...(sorry if I forgot anyone...can't remember all of 'em off the top of my head )

I love being here, and don't see myself leaving for a long, long time, if ever.

i enjoy it here very much. i enjoy the jokes from bonnie and kelly. i try to help someone out if they have a problem. i enjoy debate and have learned how to respect all kinds of different opinions even if they do not reflect my own. right steph and jq lol. i owe storm2 k alot for helping me open my eyes to things i have been so blind to in the past... thanks rainband.

i am glad i have found this internet family.

Thank me?? Thank you Lindaloo...and everyone else for being such good friends to me..You guys are like family!!! As the previous posts stated Storm2K is commited to maintaining an atmosphere where everyone is comfortable..I hope we can all put aside our differences and coinside with each other in a respectable manner. I hope all of our members feel at home here. As a Moderator..I try my best to ignore ignorance and be a bigger individual..sometimes my "passion" as Marshall calls it..gets the better of me. I hope I as an individual...haven't caused anyone here to feel uncomfortable being here. I hope in the future we can put aside our differences and learn to disagree with love and not hate!! The reason why we are here is a comman interest ..THE WEATHER..mother nature is like all of us..We will never fully understand mother nature..and some of us will never understand each other!! But like it is with mother nature..we must respect one another..I hope all the problems are over now and we can get on with.."The tropics" Peace

That's right Lindaloo!

I know I have "lost it" on occassion or shall I say, said a few things that may have been a abit inflamatory, but that was more due to frustration. ANYWAY, I have been trying to step back from some topics and only make comments that are appropriate. I like to kid around too and hopefully I haven't offended anyone with anything.

You're right, Marshall, Chad, Ticka and Johnathan, there are always going to be disagreements among "family members", but we need to always show respect to each other's opinions. Sometimes you need to put up reminder threads like these and you as Administrators and Moderators need to do what you have to to keep this board running smoothly. It is a GREAT PLACE to meet people and chat about all sorts of ideas, not just weather and I am sooo glad that I've been apart of it so far!

I must have missed the threads you referred to. It always pains me to see people ripping into each other. Everyone has a strong opinion about something and you have to respect it. And if I'm ever straying off course, a little reminder is all it will take.

Thanks for everyone's responses! We all get a little heated at times (a pig headed lot we are! ) but all in all we debate some of the touchiest topics with remarkable civility. There have just been a couple of cases where people forgot. Just wanted to remind everyone (including me ) !

I'll always encourage the family atmosphere we have going on here. I love Storm2K! I missed all the trouble too, but I don't need to see it. 99.9% of the time, Storm2K is a great place. I can see how some topics could get heated but what I appreciate the most is the effective way the Admin. (Marshall, Ticka, Chad) communicates with members. Explaining why this happened, or that topic was taken care of. You honestly don't have to go that far but since you do, I'll step forward and say I've noticed you three go the extra mile. You created this site to be family friendly and it is just that way. So count me in anytime you want to foster this attitude. I wholeheartedly agree with all the praise I've read in the replies here. Thanks Storm2K! I take you for granted at times and this topic was a reminder to sit up and take notice of how really nice this place is.

I have just gotten a chance to read this post and like some have said, I must have missed the "problem posts". Which is fine with me, but then I started thinking "Have I been rude or hurt anyone's feelings?" Honestly I don't think so but I wanted to say that I am sorry if I have hurt anyone in any shape or form. I know me! I can be very opinionated and I may say something that could be mis-interpretted.

On the other hand, what this board means to me is really indescribable! I have made friends and gotten much support during trying times. I have never heard of anyone who has found a board anyhwere that compares to what I have found here.

The mods and admins here work very hard to keep up the integrity of this board and I admire and respect their opinions and hard work.

OWCH! Stop it!

Well what a good thread with great replies..................I for one have been away for awhile as most know and missed alot of what happend but no matter what it was i will say that i myself love the atmosphere here at Storm2K and will do my best to keep it a family friendly site............Hopefully i havent upset anyone in the past, present or even future and if i have i am very sorry and if i do please be sure to let me know or if anyone else for that matter does let me know and i will do my best to fix it.....................Either way we have the best and one of the fastest growing weather sites on the internet and i will do my best to keep this wonderfull place the way it is..................Thanks everyone for beeing a part of this site and thanks Chad, Marshall and Ticka for making this all possible and keeping this site what it is (this also includes the mods here at storm2k)and thats "The Best Weather Info & Discussion Site On The Net"!
