I am curious about what our members are using for their screen resolution. This information will help Chad and I as we develop web pages in the future. Please let us know!
If you don't know, here is how to find out:
Got to your desktop
Right click and pick "Properties"
Click on the "Settings" tab
You resolution is displayed at bottom right as "Screen Area"
The most common are 800x600 and 1024x768
Thanks for your help!

just curious, but what is the difference between all of those? Is there one that is better than the others? I know nothing about the hardware part of the computer...I can browse the internet like any professional internet junkie, but if I had to fix something...well, let's just say I couldn't.

The resolution sets how many pixels (dots) are displayed on your screen. The first number is how many dots across and the second number is how many down. In general the more dots the better, however, the more dots on the screen the size of each dots is smaller. If you want to try it, change your resolution using the slider in the "Screen Area" where you checked your resolution. You can use
http://www.storm2k.org to see the difference. If most people were using the higher resolution, we could put more one one page... It was more of a curiosity thing for me. Most web sites still stick to the 800x600 standard for ease of use by the majority of visitors.

What do ya mean? I guess its kind of an oddball resolution, but i made my toolbar go on the left sid and then put a destock icon toolbar on the bottom row so i don't have actual desktop icons. Its pretty convenient, but shrinks the width so i had to make it smaller.

I've heard that having 1024x768 resolution is good for your monitor. It take a bit of time getting used to it from the "larger look" -- but seems to be the best for most websites and what I mentioned above.

I'm using 1024x768. I'd go smaller but this is only a 15" monitor. At work I have a 19" monitor and have it set at 1280x1024 so people walking by can't see what I'm doing! I often have a message board on, all scrunched down in size. I like it smaller so I can have more things on my desk top. I think it probably slows down the computer a little, so I reduced the number of colors, hopefully to compensate.

Not quite ... but it gives me a good idea where my traffic comes from
As of this release ... since I do not have my website on a search engine, just about all my hits are coming from the messageboards.
TWC has the highest percentage, followed by Wright-Weather Board.
Hopefully, Storm2K will tip the scales quite a bit.

My website is fully designed and maintained by myself. The site statistics are kept by my web provider.
It has a lot of archived weather information, plus a ton of links for current and some archived details of events.
Also as a note: I added Storm2K on my links page and took TWC off!
I paid for my own domain space, but unfortunately I'm not a web hoster.
