Brilliant statement

Do the words "I don't THINK" mean anything to you?? obviously not...I didn't state it as factual.....geez, calm down.

CZ I am as calm as I can be, but some that read this board may take everything they read to the bank.

Actually the 18z run is useless. Tune in for the 0z run and we then we can have some good long term model disco.

I'm just stating my opinion like everyone else. Heck, I've heard local meteorologists around here saying that they don't think LA is any danger.

Okay, credibility is that I see a high pressure building in and I don't see it shifting that far east to allow the storm to drive in that direction....better?

I dont like what the GFDL is showing at all.
I know its still way early, but geez.

luckily I know from you guys and from professional mets how these storms work and the sorts of things that steer it around. So I have some degree of preparedness just in case. But this is giving me a BAd vibe and the last itme I felt like this...yeah Lili came to our doorway.
Im not taking chances. Im going to gather up some supplies very soon, possibly tomorrow, just in case.

On another note I finally ventured away from French quarter and uptown to the lakefront to see the damage on my last visit to NO. you really cant describe it. you just cant. I have to say Im pretty worried, because from what Ive seen the levees arent all that improved. Theres still rubble everywhere and its just a mess. You can see waterlines 8 feet up on houses and flipped cars and bare trees. nothing really prepares you for osmething like that.

Either people better calm down or I'll start handing out suspensions. There's going to enough stress in the coming few days for everyone so let's not add to it with outlandish statements or petty bickering. If you have a problem with someone's post user the Report Post feature. That's the red exclamation point icon.

Nobody is completely out of the woods just yet from the Keys westward, I do think it is safe to rule out the east coast now though.

Since the 0z run incorporates recon data; its the first one I'll really take seriously as far as US landfall goes.

Question: Was the GFDL model run that shows Dean moving into the central GOM, on a track toward southern Louisiana, taken into consideration in the 5 p.m. EDT advisory?

Thanks.

JMO, but I think everyone along the Gulf Coast from Lower Texas to Florida needs to be watching very closely. Days 4-7 will be the telling days, and no one needs to be caught offguard at the last minute. We will most likely be dealing with at least a cat 3 storm which is a very serious and dangerous hurricane, and as of now it is far, far too early for anyone to consider themselves out of the woods

Thanks, I didn't have time to read the discussion earlier. Interesting to see the GFDL do this, I'm wondering if others will "follow suit".

Once he moves into the SW caribbean and the Gulf, I expect him to explode. Those waters are running around 90 degrees and been virtually untouched for nearly 2 years unless you count Erin.

Too far out in time, not enough runs with that solution, the new data from recon and GIV not ingested yet.Things are going to change when Dean geats in the W Carib then you will see a handle on the situation otherwise no need in screaming fire.
