Is the eye going to hit the coast or stay just off it? If it just stays off it.. that'll be OK news or at least better news for jamaica, but terrible news for the Yucatan and Cancun because it'll give Dean a chance to ramp up to Cat 5 before landfall..

Took a little longer then I thought last night. But now that the outter eye is taking over fast. In so reds are wraping around it fast, expect pressure to go down to sub 920s by 8pm maybe 11pm. In I expect a cat5 by 5am est if everything falls into place.

Personal opinion not endorsed by Storm2k:

You can see hard, core bands are over Kingston. I'll risk saying they are under hurricane fury right now.

Eye should miss, but close enough pass for next worse scenario I'm afraid.

Major blowup of convection all the way around now, IR looks like cat 4, water vapor from satellite looks like going to cat 5. Looks like probable significant damage to Jamaica, particularly the western half as the storm intensifies as it grazes Jamaica.

Too bad you can't see the readings from Portland Point (That very southern tip of the island)

Aric: The power could be shut off and that was the last reading. Though I agree the worst is well south

South coast where Kingston is is going to get the worst of it, don't think they will get lucky like with Ivan. :(
