I'm a few miles north of Katy right now in Cypress - hasn't rained for several hours here - some gusts of wind and beautiful clouds but that's about it.

Thanks for the info. I've got family in Katy and wasn't sure how Erin was treating y'all.
From what I've seen on TV of Houston, it looks like they got slammed with inches and inches of rain.

I'm not in Texas, but FWIW, we're getting some welcome relief from the heat this afternoon in the form of downpours from the outer rainbands coming up out of the Gulf courtesy of Erin's remains. I believe it's the first measurable rain in my neighborhood since August 1.

San Antonio news reporting that 5-7 inches fell in the city today. We have major road closures and major flooding going on all over the city. It's a mess!

Stinson Airfield on the southeast side of the city registered 7.2 inches of rain since 5 am this morning.

80% chance of rain tomorrow as well.

I've got a 25 mile drive back into town after work - with many bridges to cross.. all NW Harris County though, so I don't expect trouble...

here's hoping!

I should specify that I was talking about Bexar County and San Antonio, but I am hoping you Houston peoples are doing alright, I've seen on the news that flooding is happening there too.

Looks like the center of Erin has more thunderstorms as of right now. It could be possible that a core rain event could happen in the Hill Country. It's had its fair share of core rain events, so I can empathize with them.
