Where? :roflmao: I've seen no sustained winds even to 30 mph.

This storm is a gigantic waste of time.

Do you not remember pre-2004? Not every storm becomes a hurricane.

I have seen on several boards where people are saying this storm was a "waste of a name", "waste of time", "boring", etc. Well, NC needs the rain - all of NC (as well as SC and VA, too). Unfortunately, we're not getting rain over the whole state, but we are getting some in parts. This storm is not a waste. 1-5" of rain that would not have been received any other way is a blessing. We here in the state apologize for this "waste of a name". Please, let's get a life.

Definitely not a waste although I was worried than no rain would fall earlier today. Happy as can be now. If only I didn't have to go to work tomorrow, then I would be exstatic. :ggreen:

Yeah - but crying that this was a waste of time is a waste of everyone's time.

Just ignore them. Some people will never be happy unless a tropical system destroys homes and has a high death toll. They are simply too narrow minded to realize no weather event is a waste and they all have some important use, be it in the form of bringing rain like this one, or simply as an educational means.

Gabrielle looks to be winding down at the moment. Shear is the clear winner in this ungoing battle.

Definetely good rain though. The gauge is overflowing now so at least 6 inches probably 7-8 when all said and done because its still coming down steady.

I can't believe that this is now 3rd top storm in ACE this season. This system has .810 beating barrys .7 something. WOW. The two big canes make up 95 percent of this seasons ace. AMAZING.

Felix and Dean=50.3 ace, to all the rest is 2.55 ace. So all together it is 52.85 ace. So Felix and Dean take up 95.175 percent of this years ace. Pretty impressive.

There are quite a few surface obs around Gabrielle's center and the squall to the south. The last time I saw a 35kt/40 mph wind was the Hatteras buoy 3 hours ago. Winds are dropping all around. If Gabrielle has any TS-force winds, she's keeping them well-hidden. Goodbye and good riddance.

I vote for no more named storms for at least a week.
